Try to avoid getz if u salary is low. That car is a fuel drinker, its better to go for myvi/viva/savvy if you looking for a fuel efficient car.

Uh, fresh grad with "parental support" or not first?

If you fresh grad-ing at under 3k and you got no other source of assistance for higher downpayment, you should only be aiming for ~40-50k cars imo.

2nd to that.. i learned it (well, my wife learnd it) the hard way.. 4/5 star NCAP ratings

user posted image

got hit on the driver's side by a NAza RIA MPV on a high speed collision..my wife escaped with minor concussion and warded for less than a week.. I'm glad i chose getz. if not, i might be a bachelor again.. huhu.. sweat.gif
Oh ya, i donno bout u guys who keep complaining bout the wheel aligning keep running, I have drove this car for more than 2 years (until the accident), i dont feel any different with the alignment.. still sturdy, steady and straight on the road (mine is the 1.3 CBU one.. donno if its the same with CKD). never done any alignment before. as a matter of fact, even AFTER the accident, the workshop did mentioned that the wheel are still straight and not effected by that accident..

The fc, ya... badddd... very bad.. sweat.gif
But rest assured, this car will take u to point A to point B SAFELY.. very2 safely..., but if only concern bout the MPG and not bout safety, get kancil.. and scrap other option.. tongue.gif

that's is of cos possible..
the heavier ur foot, the higher ur FC doesnt matter what car ure driving, but that's only comparable to the car ure driving la...

my driving style is relax with some flooring once in a while when i need it.. (50% city, 50% highway driving)..
on current (RM1.80/liter), i can get only 50+km per RM10 of petrol..

if on highways (constant speed of 80-100kmh), u can get 550km on a full tank of petrol (45liters) with still some left.. i've done this from KL-Pengkalan Kubur, Kelantan.. thru KL-karak-lipis...

If you want a Korean marque, get 2nd hand instead as it will be cheaper but u won't lose much after selling it off in 2-3 years time. Buy new and lose 40% in 1st year alone.

Its economical, remarkably strong but drives like a pig.

korean cars have a bad 2nd hand value so if u plan to get one make sure u gonna keep it a least 6 years otherwise if you take a 90% loan and decide to sell on the 3rd year or so be prepared to top up the loan to sell the car.

the car is may be worth less than your outstanding loan amount.

rule of thumb is how much are you earning and car installment is not more than 33% of your salary after minus taxes and EPF. also take note its gonna tie you down for at least 5 years and its never gonna appreciate in value.

clear car loan ASAP and use the car for free. paying the bank 9 years just to drive the car u like sounds stupid to me.

I got one Hyundai
Really drinking petrol like mad
Almost everyday one quarter usage

I have other cars, so i know the difference and its irrelevant to say compare user usage

But now its in the workshop, coz the wheel bearing came off....
so most of the -ve points here are true

i drive a saga 1.3, and my girlfren has a getz 1.4. both stock. even though difference only 0.1 litre, the performance of getz is much much better.. it's fun to drive, good pickup, and the engine sounds lovely when u rev it hard. not too noisy like the saga, and it feels like u're driving a car with a powerful engine. really nice to drive if u like to drive fast and overtake often. only complain is that steering wheel is a bit too large but thin, i love the saga steering wheel better, smaller and soft, and has more grip.

Hyundai Getz is quite a good car.My untie and uncle own 1 each.My untie car already 5 years and it is still as good as new, no squeaking sound compare with my 2 year plus myvi......dashboard and whole car got squeaking sound.. damn annoying....
Ohya Getz is a heavy car compare with Myvi.I mean the overall feeling of driving it.
Hyundai car basically have a lower resale value compare with other make.
Getz is a solid car because my untie work in sales and have a high mileage and after 5 years nothing major problem with it.

i didnt really measure but i think the getz fc higher... or maybe it's because the getz has analogue fuel meter and saga lcd one... so i can see the fuel meter goes down slowly when im driving the car, compared with the saga with 6 fuel bars which only goes down one bar after driving for some time... anyway, if u drive ok, fc should be allright for any cars with 1.4 or 1.3 engine... inflate tyres a bit more than recommended and u can save some fuel.. id say go for the getz if u can afford it. if u're a student who needs to jimat every cent u earned, get the saga instead. nice car if u can live with the engine noise..

hmm, maybe getz high fc is because it's fun to drive to it hard, that's why fc higher. when i drive the saga, pickup is damn slow and engine rev damn hard while making noises without any significant pickup. it's like the pedal's function is only to increase engine noise and rpm. but getz pickup is way way better, so it's fun to throttle it around the city, maybe that's why fc higher...

I wanted to buy a car for my wife so I went to Hyunadai Glenmarie this morning, the SA said they are selling the Inokom1.4(Auto) 2007 as below:

Price: RM 48K(after discount) + bodykit(worth 1.5K) + fog lamp(worth RM300)+ free phone
Total saving RM 14,800
For 2008 model:
Price: RM 54K(after discount), no bodykit, no fog lamp, + free phone

Which one is better deal?
