Hello alphabeta, Im not using Sony but I think the setting is almost same, what do you adjust other than ISO, exposure, aperture and metering right. Hope this helps -

lehtung, it helps to shoot ONLY when the moon is really solidly white. That's when there are no clouds and you can get a faster shutter speed. smile.gif

Also, if you noticed, mizivincible's moon is not a full moon... the sun is hitting it at a slight angle which gives the 3D effect on the craters on the top-right.

If you want, you can actually combine a few moon exposures to give the 3D effect across the whole moon.

oh i see ..
tonight here a bit cloudy .. can see a ring around the moon ..
i'm still a noob.. tongue.gif

SpOOkY: No, if a highlight is too bright, you use Highlight Recovery. If a shadow is too dark, you use Shadow Recovery.

Traditionally we are told that highlights cannot be recovered as well as shadows, which is why it is good to check the histogram after shooting to note any blinking highlights/shadows.

dark lenanza: Yes, we seem to live near the Bermuda Triangle. All ships get lost there.

can teach how to check the histogram ?

I cant tell u exact how many K....u can either use the preset "tungsten" WB for yellow light...and flouresant for the flouresant tube.

btw, normal car light (halogen not HID) is around 2600k...so gauge la..heheheh...
BMW, MERZ, CAMRY, HARRIER (other continental/stock HID) is 4300k
*
bro Sp00kY, in the preset WB such as tungsten, when press right there can + or - , how to set it ?

when i shooting yellow things like yellow flower with AWB, the other things inside the pic (like leaf) will look slightly yellowish also,
so every time i shoot yellow thing i have to use custom WB..
