If this lens come out it will kill the market for Carl Zeiss 16-80 f3.5-4.5... unless Sony plan to discontinue the 1680.
*
Yes, agree. About the replacement, it still can survive if the new lens cost like RM 4xxx while the 16-80 is selling at RM 2999 @ Sony Center. Who knows what will happen tongue.gif .

to all..i was wondering..how to copy a picture here??last time i try to copy the html here..but it does not work??can anyone teach me how to post a picture here??plz...

You need to upload it first at image hosting websites like photobucket, google picasa, flickr, etc......
Watch out the size of your pic (not too large). Copy the image url > hit the "IMG" button on top > paste your image url.

You're done.

I doubt the CZ 16-80mm f3.5-4.5 IQ can beat the Tammy 17-50mm f2.8 in terms of sharpness at wide open.
*

The Zeiss is sharper at wide open.

Any link to prove your statement above? smile.gif
*
Let me check if I can get u the comparison link.

And also I tell based on experience on my previous 17-50 and current cz 16-80. You may say I might got a lemon copy or whatever (btw brother albnok assisted me to inspect the lens from YL).
Reader out there may choose to believe or ignore it total.

Cheers......

QUOTE(Freezefrost @ Feb 7 2009, 06:02 PM)
soft at 2.8? could it be that u focus wrongly?
*
The Tamron is sharp at 2.8, no doubt but the Zeiss capture more details if u crop at 100%.

i would like to see the comparison too since i'm planning to find my kitlens replacement.

I can't seems to find a side by side comparison with same subject, focal length and wide opened aperture between these 2 lenses, but some other forum had discussed this before @

thats from my eyes la..soft at f2.8, will sharp at f4 and above, as it was not my lens, therefore i cant give a full conclusion on the lens..focus wrongly will have out of focus part, not soft..

correct me ifim wrong using the terms of softness and sharpness..

and for the price wise, i still vote for tamron 17-50mm f2.8..
*
Precisely, I trust my eyes too. I shoot 95% of my pics at F4 on my previous Tamron 17-50. It was sharp but I'm more to contrast, colors and corner sharpness of the CZ16-80.

In terms of spec, D300 anytime. Unless you wanna pick those teeny-weeny features to compare. Oh ya. One advise from you. When you are asking for comparison, always ask from every side which are involved. That will make you judge better rather then listening to just one side. biggrin.gif

Just like, on the other hand, you'll get this reply about A900 and Sony.

Yea, thanks for being the morning clown. I'm quite amused. You might wanna brush up ya England a little bit more unless you plan to continue making fun of yourself. smile.gif
Perhaps you could share the conversation between you and the seller here so that we can avoid that seller in future? smile.gif
*
Why do u need to post such quote and link @ Nikon thread? doh.gif
Or u enjoy reading about "my camera is more super than yours"? I don't see anyone here mentioned about how bad the D3 / D700 is.

Sad to say you still don't understand the meaning of doubt.  sleep.gif
Why are you so cooked up over this? Is it wrong to post what others comment about something? Some people might say that Sony is god-like, some might think that it's just another piece of thrash. Whether they say it's good or not, it's up to you to digest. Don't tell me you are those who can't accept what others comment? or your ears only welcome good points of the brand you are using? Do ponder about it.

smile.gif

Please tell me what ppl here commented on the D3 and D700.

Erk, how do I know what you guys commented on D3 and D700. Or would you like to share your opinion on one if you had owned one before? smile.gif
*

1) U quote "D3 and D700 is that bad?" in Nikon thread and diverted to Alpha thread.
2) You asked "is it wrong to post what others comment about something".
3) The best part is "eh, how do I know what you guys commented on D3 and D700".

Get the pic?

No, all I can recall was

1. Someone posted his personal opinions about D3 and D700 in Sony's thread
2. I quoted that and seek explanation from Nikonians
3. Nikonians replied. You got heated up?
