usually when we want to buy hakat Vtec, what would we get?
the halfcut itself, which at bear minimum should include the engine itself w/ gearbox, wiring harness, ECU.. anything else like rads, front knuckle and brake disk, steering rack etc are bonus and may increase the halfcut price. but remember the important thing, the ECU
The ECU is the computer unit that controls the engine with all the sensors feedback. For civic EG, it should be on the passenger side legroom near the wall (the silver aluminium box under the carpet.
Your old engine may have ECU by itself, but it may have different engine mappings/program in it that only suit your old engine. each engine is paired together with their own ECU/control unit to work properly.
p/s: i drive an EG too
if speedo not working, maybe its bcoz 1. speedo really kong 2. the connector in the engine bay loose/bad connection due to dirt.
this one no need b16. d16 single vtec also can fly already =__= So far its rare for me to see 2nd and 3rd gen civic in malaysia. surprisingly 1st gen lampu bulat is common/usually seen though
So my car has been not alive for almost 2weeks, and has been towed to Honda SC ;__; They have came down to ECU problem as they cannot further debug the sensors as the ECU is not giving error code even with their scantools. Unfortunately the do not have OBD1 ecu lying around so i need to scout one by myself. My ECU is P27-T01. Must I find the exact same ECU model, or any manual D16 mt ecu might do the job?
well guys, i need to ask, how much does a honda civic ecu generally costs, lol
im comparing apples with oranges. i just bought a keihin quad carb side draft original carburetor for my honda s600. lol, rm2100 plus shipping from ebay. damn pokai now, but its the only way to see my car rev to 11,000 rpm!
do you have any specific ecu in mind?(obd1/obd2/obd2b) i'll have a lookout since im scouting for obd1 myself for my EG
unless theres a kind soul who can borrow me his/her ecu for a day to troubleshoot my car
bro, p27 is the one for non-vtec d16 single cam rite?....the one found on local civic eh series....
you are right called mun lee, no stock. i doubt i can find anything in usj ;__;
i need another working ECU to pintpoint whether my car is having ECU problem itself, or theres short circuit wire causing the ECU not functioning/giving out error code
its giving out an error code? have u checked online wat that code means?
im not sure about ur model...but with the B16A EGs n above theres a way to short the wires (which i forgot exactly which wires) to get the error code to display on ur dash....
ur check engine light will be blinking the error code.
it is not giving out any error code you can check my thread on Technical subsection 'OBD1 not giving error code' yes, i should be able to get the error code coz minde is OBD1. Even honda scantools cant get the error code readings
wat is wrong wif ur current ECU?? cannot start engine??
i've a P30 wif me here.
yep.. ecu suspected died a slow death check engine light always on, no OBD error codes, and its not giving the fuelpump signal even after changed the main relay.
thanks, but my car cannot use P30.. Got myself a P27 just now from kg baru subang.. so expensive woh, rm650 include trade-in.. hope my car will revive with a new heart
how come cannot use?? walau.. include trade in so expensive.
but on the internet, P30 is for eg/delsol DOHC wor Mine only SOHC Today picked up my car from SC.. LoL my Civic 5th gen together-gether with Gen 8th civics in workshop Honda retune my car, now the throttle feel responsive havent open the engine bay kot kot they swap something in it
to those still riding olde SOHC civics, something to share with ya
did a dyno run on my stock me516, after swapping injectors as one of my injector broke while doing supersonic bath.
not fast, put it has 107ps printed on paper
------ anyway, my AFR drop to 12 at 2.8krpm and beyond. as the optimum should be around 13.5, the boss suggest emanage. he say treat it as a fuel investment on the long run, and consider any new ponies unveil as bonus. go, or no go?
