Try check the quicksave price at the autosaver. Maybe can cheaper.

Why don't change your tyre & rim to 17" ? 16" look ugly for FD.
*
Didn't think of that when i went to quicksave. Initially tot of getting a set of N8000 only, mana tau come out this kong that kong...zzzzzz

BTW, any idea where can we find online for price comparison for each and every item for FD?

kinda a standard procedures for mech to tell u to change this and that.. and most of the customers r not sure about it as well.. hmm.. we need to educate ourselves better..  laugh.gif

I doubt Quicksave is a money sucking service centre as compared to those workshops out there, as it is an official merchant at 8gcc, and i was well prepared for the standard wear and tear for a 5years old 100k km car.

In my case, the rear LSH abs have been leaking oil since last year, just that i choose not to pay attention to it only.
and both my mountings already cracked kaw kaw and can see oil leaking out dy..going over humps previously was as if i was in a tin kosong..noise here and there.
Disc brake and pad also time to changed dy since left 20% and disc already skimmed twice.
So satu kali let Quicksave do all lor..got discount and can pay installment with cc somemore..hehe

My idea of posting was if there is a platform for all of us FD owners to share their repair and replacement cost here, then we shall be better informed of the normal price for each and every parts.

Save the hassle to survey shop by shop and risk being sweared at by the foremans if u asked and walk away.. tongue.gif

err...there shud be a correction. 2012 new model, not 2012 facelift.

every time brake, can heard the screeching sounds from rear,
service centre claims it a tear & wear!! their pad got problem?
was is a common problem for FD2?
*
new car ?
if already more than 20k km, then is normal wear.
i experienced this screeching sounds from the rear before too.
the sound is an indication that the pads are worn out and needs to be replaced.
the brake system has somekind of metal to produce this sound whenever the pads are worn lesser than the metal.
correct me if i am wrong, but this was told by my service technician.
after replacing new pads, the sound is gone.

I mentioned the below remark on power steering..Atlast HM already acknowledged the problem and started recalling..Those wth power steering problem Aeroplane humming sound & leaking better take the opportunity...Good for them even recalling those after warranty period  rclxms.gif

I am driving an fd1 2006.
Recently last night while driving and manuevering over a speed hump, when i applied the brakes, there was a vibration with kroak kroak kroak sound as if the ABS had cut in.
The braking wasn't emergency and speed was around 50kmph only.

Anyone here have similar experiences? Is that normal?

Twice i experienced it last night, but today sent to mech, can't find the problem cos nothing happened while braking.

Brake fluid still enough, brake pad (project MU) and rotor (brembo) changed just 2 months ago.

What I wanna ask here is, how do we know its the actual ABS functioning, or there is a failure for the ABS which kicks in suka2 hati.

Driving so long also don't no how abs function. And never try before too?

By the way, this is normal and abs kick in. Cause if the brake is cramp hard, abs will kick in. Frequent if new brake pad or better brake parts. Another is when skidding after or before hump when brake hard.

I enjoy when abs kick in. Massage my leg. tongue.gif

I search high and low to know how ABS really work. Still trying to understand the theory.

Bro, u mean if pad and rotor is brand new, will kick in more frequent the ABS?
