If u are always on a town drive, just stick to the settings that u've did. Lets take GAB SS (Hi-lo Soft Hard) for example. There's about 30+ damping rates that u can set on it as its fully adjustable. And u dont have to go to the workshop just to do it. As the settings are all done at the engine bay. When its installed, the installer will teach u the various damping rate that u can set by demo it to u. And they usually set it at a middle so that u can self adjust according to ur needs since different people different reqs.

Which also allows the user to set it on a medium/soft on daily drive esp those family style but set it to hard when feel for a spirited drive over the weekend smile.gif

In this case, probaly will try it.

Hi guys.. So busy till long time didn't check this thread.. My car(FD2) got stolen year end of 2009..

So I do research around and found a few problems with our civic's security.. Installed a few extra security measures on my current civic..
*
The car don't have the security problem. Have you compare with others car security?

The car security is normal or just above average car.

So what extra security have you instal? Padlock? tongue.gif

Does anyone know any workshop which provides GPS tracking system installation services?

If our cars are stolen, we can track location of our cars.
*
As zenix suggest.

By the way, what for you want to track your car location? What can you do?

Civic have a trend of ugly, nice generation. Since 8th gen is nice, than 9th gen is ugly.

But those guys waiting for new civic is not about nice or ugly. It is about new car or lastest.

I wait 2 gen to get this 8th gen. When I interest on 6th gen, it out of my budget and the interior not so nice.

Than come the 7th gen which a let down design and too normal. Than 8th gen is the perfect.

6th Gen = EK? that's a gem until now it is still expensive.
top of the line and well maintained 6gen 5th hand price oso can compare to 7th gen.
8gen is the best coz it was the generation leader once it came out all the others have to follow its design cues/dna.
That's right EK. That time selling at RM118 if not forgotten. Everybody said overprice at that time. So I just wait for the next gen which is a let down. sad.gif

Will a 9th gen have a same faith as 7th gen?

The EK & FD are the only ones with a true racing heritage with Type-R brothers, every other Civic after EG without racing heritage didn't do so well.
The EG was okay with the SiR spec.
ET didn't have any and the newest doesn't have one .....yet.
That time I only know EG is famous in europe when I in japan watching TV ad and news. Still not yet arrive in malaysia. But in japan that time still famous with skyline, supra and gto.

And that time, I don't like the EG cause when I drive my friend heavy mod EG 1.5 non vtec, it damn hard suspension and noisy engine.

The last batch of ET is 2.0 ivtec engine which not bad 2nd price.

Installation only at official Honda dealers/showroom. First installation RM3,600. 2nd year onwards is RM360 yearly service fee.

Compensation(s):

1) If car tampered (Or attempted to steal by thieves), you get RM5,000 cash (Regardless car still there or not)
2) If car stolen, and recovered within 72 hours, you get to claim fixing bill up to RM5,000 (You still get to keep the first RM5,000 from 1)
3) If car stolen, not recovered within 72 hours (Regardless found after that or not), they pay you RM10,000 cash (to service your stolen car installment until claim by insurance company is done) and RM15,000 cash voucher (for downpayment for a new Honda car).

So based on their package I find it quite worth it. I believe no matter what system nowadays they are ways for theives to steal your car. We can't outsmart them. We can only slow them down. And choose the system that pays us (like the Connex).

P/S all these compensation by Connex does not interfere with insurance claim, which can proceed as per normal procedure.
*
The annual fee is a bit expensive. But if you kiasu type, that doesn't matter.

Any true succed claim and found story for this connex alarm system? Don't trust 100% saleman and check their T&C hidden term.

eightgc2 forum member asked me to go for the NTN brand. SC quote me for left rear bearing for around RM500 for all.... not sure whether ori stock one is NTN brand also?... i forgot to ask..  hmm.gif
*
The wheel bearing is not just the bearing. It have sensor inside too to detect for ABS and VSA. All house together with the bearing. Simply go to abeng workshop to change will cause trouble.

Go back to SC to change is the best advice. Doesn't matter what brand. Unless you have cheaper source. And it is advice to change both side.

my recommendation is if your car is still under warranty go back to SC.
find good SC like peringit or global amity.
my favorite now is kosmo kars can do everything, even fix bengkok rims  brows.gif
plus nasi lemak in the morning foc  drool.gif
if your car isn't under warranty you can choose a trusty workshop to do it.
Already over warranty lor. I don't go back SC and choose outside proper good workshop to change. Cheaper.

shocking.gif both side change together....  rclxub.gif  wondering why Honda's bearing so fast "kong".... cry.gif  damn.....
mine one just left rear side... even SC told me that change wherever side that causing the humming sound only.. doesn't required to change both one...
*
The lifespan is about same. If one side problem, another side is getting near too. Both assembly at the same time in factory. Not 1 side bearing over few year each others.

Changing both will save your time and money for the workmanship. And your car have even smooth turning on both wheel. Not 1 side slighty heavy and 1 side smooth.

Ozak,

Mine also over warranty, any recommended and reliable workshop that we can visit? Even for the regular maintenance.
*
I go to autosaver in sunway. They follow honda japan proper schedule service and parts change. They don't use third party part. Only origin part. Service price cheaper but sometime not the part.

What I like is nearer to my working place, less car and they have console to diagnostic the problem which not all workshop have. ( Very expensive )

You can't compare. Even buying used car in here, the price is still high.

30-40% of your money buying the car is for tax. Car here is still consider luxury for gov.

Plenty if you shop around used car dealer. But not fd1/2. Fd1/2 still between range 85k-over 100k.

Hi guys, I have a Civic EJ7 (2007) and thinking of changing the color
from gold (stock color) to white.
My friend told me that I should go and buy the color myself and bring
it to the workshop for them to put on... but I dont have a clue on what brands
to buy and where to buy it... Any recommendation of the brands (paint) ???

I would like to change my backlight as well, anyone know which supplier
to order from ??
TQ in advance ....
*
Get the fd2r champion white. You can get the paint code from Honda service and the brand. If you have this in for already, why you want to get yourself the paint?

U suggesting to bring my car to Honda service centre and let them paint it ??
Wouldn't that be more xpensive than normal workshops ??
*
Nope. Just asking the original paint code. Normally the car paint code wrote at the side door near/beside the tyre air pressure. But since you want to paint to others color, than you need to ask the paint color and code. Just get it from SC. Fd2r is using champion white which is nicer than those fd white. If still not success, than write back here.
