I have a u mobile prepaid sim for standby / 2nd phone. I have credit but did not subscribe to any plan. Can I make call without subscribing to call plan? If yes, how's the call rate like?

QUOTE(koh_424 @ Feb 15 2013, 01:34 PM) Have u subscribe to any DATA? Thanks. If no i think ur plan might b this 1. http://www.u.com.my/prepaid/free_sms_and_calls I think it is better not to subscribe to any call plan if the line is just for standby as the commitment is only RM10 per month. Am I right? |

QUOTE(celaw @ Feb 17 2013, 10:38 PM) Hi, currently I'm under Digi Smart Plan contract which will expire during coming April. Now I'm searching which plan is the best for internet plan. Currently I'm interested on U28 prepaid/postpaid plan but worried about the coverage. There is hsdpa coverage at the few places that you mention. But sometimes not stable. Speed is about 1mbps to 2mbps. Recently, I saw there is some post that umobile is renting Maxis connection. So anyone can confirm that there is HSDPA coverage in Melaka area, i.e. Bukit Baru, Ayer Keroh, Melaka Baru, and Cheng? In addition, what is the normal speed for U28 prepaid and postpaid plan? What is the throttled speed if I exceeded the quota? Thank you in advanced. =) Not too sure about throttled speed. Buy prepaid SIM to try it out. Only cost you RM8 :-) This post has been edited by et_kt: Feb 17 2013, 11:47 PM |

QUOTE(celaw @ Mar 12 2013, 10:26 PM) Hi, I stayed in melaka city area. Currently I'm on digi postpaid where contract expired next month. Plan to MNP to u Mobile. So I bought a prepaid card to test the speed. I didn't sign up any plan with the starter pack. When I opened mobile internet, it shown "H". But load page speed very slow. Then I test it with speedtest. Only 0.04Mbps for download speed. Called customer service but noone answer after waiting for 15minutes. Anyone able to enlighten be regarding this issue? I am in Melaka. Usual speed is about 1mbps to 2mbps. No sure what's your problem. |

QUOTE(andrewtho @ Mar 28 2013, 08:16 PM) Has anyone ever consider of terminating their contract earlier (postpaid)? I have 7 months left on my 2 years contract and I can no longer accept the horrible coverage on UM. I've send them an email regarding the early termination, as usual, they ignored. I thought you are in federal territory, coverage still bad?Basically the payment works like this? For U28. 28/30 * 210 days = RM196. Basically need to pay off 196 and I should be contract free right? |

QUOTE(digilife @ Jul 22 2013, 09:15 AM) Not only users affected, dealers that are using the System to do User registration and activation are also affected. Let me share my experience with um. I subscribed the post paid broadband package and signed up for auto debit via credit card on the same day.Its not easy to migrate from an smaller capacity system to a bigger capacity system. It cost lots of money and down time, it also needs backup to maintain the whole system, not like for example , if your home pc is laggy, go LYP buy a higher specs setup, install OS then you are good to go. Not so simple to do system upgrade for telcos. What i can advice is if you need to do package subscription or reload topup, pls do it during those hours that is not being used by the majority of the users , when is the time to do it, you have to use your own creativity, even postpaid customers have their line barred after pymt, because the system "thinks" that they have not paid !!!! UM did not charge my credit card for first 3 months but barred my line. I went to the service center for few times but was informed no payment required as it is under auto debit. I even wrote a few emails to its customer service but all no reply. With all frustration I went back to the service center after my line was barred for 2 weeks. The staff asked me to pay cash to update the 3 months subscription. I did it and my line was free up. Later in the same month when I received my credit card statement I noticed that UM charged me a 3-month subscription fee. With all payments made plus 3 months advance payment, I still received sms asking for payment on arrears. So moral of story, stay away from UM if you can. |
