Be careful, I noticed even if I deactivated my voicemail, unanswered calls after 25 seconds or if my phone is off/no coverage, the caller will be charged.

Tested by calling to myself and I got charged mad.gif

For my case, I called CS again complaining about the charges as voicemail is disabled. According to CS, my voicemail disabled request made last month is still in progress vmad.gif They promise to call me back in 1-2 days which they expect to complete disabling the voicemail.

So I assume they disabled my voicemail partially, means the caller does not hear any voicemail greeting but the call is still connected to somewhere which charges the caller.

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Jun 16 2013, 09:00 PM)
Please lodge a complain with CS And get a case no.
I reported the problem to CS and they told me there was nothing wrong at U Mobile's end and asked me to complain to Hotlink instead.  I told CS, Hotlink's billing system wouldn't be able to generate the chargers if call was not connected. Both ends must "hand shake" in order to trigger the billing system to calculate the duration of connection and chargers.

I managed to get the case no after my reasoning convinced the CS.

I did another test call to ascertain if my hotlink billing system is the cause of the problem by calling my Maxis postpaid (voice mail deactivated) unanswered  till the call cut off. The result was, no charge to my Hotlink.

Did you manage to completely disable voicemail? I noticed I am still receiving missed call alert even after voicemail is disabled and there is active call divert which I am unable to deactivate. suspecting it is the missed call alert which is charging the caller, I asked CS to disable missed call alert yesterday but it is still not disabled. Really fed up of this thus I created a complaint at http://complaint.cfm.org.my with complaint type as unfair practice, I strongly advise other to do so as well.
