Wow! Didn't know this issue still happen as for now, 7200.11 should be obsolete by now.
Anyway, of my time having this issue (June), there was no news at all, so I RMA it thinking it was a very serious drive failure, and only found the news after i got it back (WTF???!!!!!).
After 1 or 2 months (if not mistaken), the new firmware SD1A released, I waited few weeks before I apply that firmware (always wait till it stable, or confirm no problem), and finally flash it according to the instruction during october last year, running fine till now, 24/7 BT machine.

Oh, the RMA-ed HDD still got the SD15 firmware when it got back, around July.

Well, ask the retailer whom sold you whether they can do specific warranty, I heard Seagate can recover the data for you FOC.
According to one of my friend at KL, he didn't manage to nego with the retailer and he exchange it with a 250GB external HDD, lol... after few months... yep rclxub.gif

Umm, you're pretty lucky to not have this problem, but it's recommended to flash the firmware, some people just randomly had it after few months, few weeks, 3 days? and some even after 1 year+, and *shrug* didn't backup, retailer does not want to do the fussy warranty, one word "die".
I guess if you frequently backup those data from the HDD, you data should be safe. icon_rolleyes.gif
