Yes,we know it's seagate problem... But,at least he can prolong the warranty 1st until Seagate come to new firmware or something else...This is called win-win situation..Seller got the profit and buyer get their satisfied since many of us here buying from AllnGap.

allngap is already generous enough to give the 3 months personal warranty. It should have come with no warranty at all.

The concentrations among 500gb, 750gb, 1TB models with SD15 firmware, both china and thailand should include.
The common symptoms
-drive on the next boot will not detected in BIOS
-drive might detect but only "0GB"

What you can do, keep it running and dont cold boot. Backup your data.

Cold boot simply shutting down(off state) your computer and powered it back (on state). Bare in mind this is randomly happen, not 100 percent can kill your hardisk.

-Err, then how about OEM drives bought from AllnGap?
Here's my HDD details (the RMA'ed/replacement one):

ST31000340AS
S/N: xxxxxxxx
P/N: 9BX158-568
Firmware: SD35
Date code: 08251
Site code: WUXISG (Made in China)

-Any other buyer(s) had RMA/returned HDDs to him?
Please state here so we know whether those drives affected too (or not).
Regards.

your hdd is listed. It's all between you and allngap. I don't think it will involved seagate.

There have been discussion among forumers in MSFN if AHCI and NCQ contribute to the failing drives. Seems like there is no definite answer for that.

So far my experience with Seagate is good. Infact it seats inside my Mac for almost 4 years without any problem. Even the original Mac HDD is creating bad space as time goes by.

Most of time I had bad times with WD. Since Bigfoot series till recently. Forgot the model but its 500GB, have to return back and get new one just to make it works.

You should already know it only affected recent hard disk.
