hey peeps, n experienced international traders

i need ur advice biggrin.gif

so... im thinking of doin preorders and importing clothes from malaysia/ taiwan to newzealand

first time doin this so im concern bout the procedures of the shipping, customs...

i've done some reseach and i know that i need to pay import duty for the nz customs under conditions that:-

1. i need to make sure that the imported goods are not copyright/ trademark

2. i need to pay duty + GST

question: what do they mean by copyright/trademark? aremy imported clothes considered copyright/trademark which is one of those website that sells taiwan /korea fashion clothes

other than that, lets say i have ordered around 30 pcs which varies in different styles, and i use a courier company to ship the goods, eg. DHL

question:- do i need to pay for an export duty to m'sia customs?
- if so , do i pay it of the company that sells me the clothings pays it?
- how much do i need to pay if the goods have a rm 900 value?

other than the topic i've pointed out... are they any thing else i need to pay for?

icon_question.gif i really need answers... n see wheather its worth venturing into this business...

can custom just open it up? and how to do they charge?

hmm , not sure.... but i think that if they suspect something , ur package will be held up at the customs warehouse and they will send u a notice via post. then u have to go to the customs warehouse ( think its at KLIA) to open it in front of them...
