btw...is very normal after hardcore session..the fan will keep running for 5-10 mins after engine shutdown to prevent engine component fault....BTW, continental style....is damn cool..only on waja i think...
Gen2 also got bro. Found out when late for meeting the other day biggrin.gif
Anyway a question here bros. Is it possible to get a single replacement rim from proton? Think I bent one of mine... There was a brick on MRR2 the other day... Couldn't swerve to avoid.. got cars around cry.gif

i think that consider wear n tear. unless you haven gone in for ur 1st service, u can complain to them la.. btw, how did a brick bent a rim?! u mean u drive and went over the brick?! then ur under carriage must have also suffered damage lo?!

better go to tyre shop n check first. bent or no bent, when u drive, you can see if the steering vibrate or not. if perviously no vibrate and now vibrate, then its most likely bent liao.. tats for front rims. if its ur back rim tats bent, i haven got a clue how to check. best go to tyre shop n check.. dun play play esp when u wan to go high speed travelling later on... bent rims not good for high speed...
*
pulled a bit to the left but still couldn't avoid. lucky my undercarriage wasn't damaged. steering does vibrate now that's why i think it's bent. the right front tyre. well, can confirm with tyre shop like u say but since I've got to service my car next week anyway I'll just check then lah~ now i'm a siput on the road haha.

by the way i think undercarriage wasn't hit because i was pulling to the left. the brick sorta bounced to the side rather maybe? blink.gif

well hit a bricks at sorta speed...definitely will kill the rims default sphere shape...anyway...SC does sell ori rims...

my suggestion..trade in ur ori..buy a new rims.....!!!!

1 ori rims i think is around rm 300..i duno..i forgotten...anyway...our rims made by jrd....so go find any jrd shop they will have it...
*
JRD has standard CPS rims? If so that's really tempting. Have to buy a whole set? Or maybe trade in all and swap for better rims than the current one?

i forgot my rpm during 110kmh.. should be around 3k rpm mark like feedzz said.

auto is easier to drive in the city of coz and if many traffic jams its perfectly god sent.. hehe..

but during hill climbs or power overtakes... then hehe.. u will need to drive harder.. tongue.gif

the pulling power also very obvious.
*
Yea, manual's much nicer for Gen2. Just have to see your preference, relax in jam or ability to zoom zoom when you want huhu~

Anyway I heard the auto gearbox could be tuned to behave differently. This is from my frien who drives a Gen2 Campro auto. Tuned at the famous Batu Pahat Service Centre. Much different compared to standard setting. So if interested in auto maybe could check out some of tuner workshops or better proton SCs? Anyone know more about this?

*
My frien in Johor ma~ so for him that's near haha. I know a tuner workshop, Red Ace Engineering in Glenmarie. 2 guys there used to be in R3. Quite nice. Do my balancing alignment there. No service or repairs la since still under warranty right. They could do adjustments and such.. Tuning and all. Upgrades fer ur car are of course available but CPS exhaust system, extractor to muffler complete set is under develepment haha~ Nice to hear they're actually developing their own stuff actually

I also rev till redline sometimes. As long as u don't do it all the time is okay i think. Till 6000 RPM is normal still biggrin.gif not yet redline

driving over 100km the steering vibrates..Earlier the tyre man swap the back tyre to the front, the result even worst..steering vibrate like vibrator...and 1 more thing..when i press the brake above 100km..the steering vibrate as well...could it be the problem??...the tyre man said could be tyre thread, or maybe disc brake plate that is uneven causing the steering vibrate.....so any ideas besides this two problem mentioned by him??...

problem he mention.

could be uneven disc brake plate make the vibration above 100km...cause when braking is done around 120km...the steering vibrate very noticeable

next could be the tyre thread...uneven..maybe i corner too much.. sweat.gif

rims no dent...

while doing the on wheel balancing...steering is perfect after done..but on the road...the steering shakes back... rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

so could be the disc plate problem??...its warp d rite??..coz steering shake when braking.. doh.gif
*
Disc plate only won't vibrate when you're not braking. Get proton to check ur wheel bearings n also steering assembly. I meself got a worn out/ loose steering rack bush the first week and got it replaced.

Anyone else got ideas what's actually wrong? Try to go to a good place to check. I recommend RACE in shah alam since they're the ones who diagnosed the steering rack bush problem I had. Proton said nuthin was wrong even when I told them a simple alignment + balancing didn't help. By the way the prob was my steering was wobbly. Can't point my car straight.

Redline at 6.5k rpm (at the dials) but not sure in the manual. My guess is the 6.5k rpm redline is for the non CPS campro, but to cut cost (in designing/manufacturing new dials) they use the same dials. Furthermore, it is not logical to have the engine peak power (6.5k rpm) in the redline region.
*
I think the 6500 lines are smaller so they're like warning red-line? 7000 redlines are thicker.

it's somewhat irritating lei~

Dashboard rattling sound. 2 times go to warranty claim @ protn service centre also not solved. In fact got worse after the 2nd time haha.

Early shift and low rpm doesn't always means fuel saving. Need to be using the right gears also.
*
Yup2. This is true. I regularly do that with my previous car and continued the habit. 2k shifting adds some extra mileage sometimes. The conditions are super flat roads or downhill. No inclines at all even very slight ones. If early shift + incline the distance to petrol station suddenly drop a lot and since I didn't trust the guesswork too much I maintained few days driving like that. Have to fill up tank a bit earlier haha.

When I maintain 2.5k to 3k I get very good mileage. Mind you mine's a Gen2 CPS so might have slight differences with Waja CPS courtesy of different body weight.

2008 honda city n vios normal lah cucuk2. they too slow + no accelleration for us cps cars haha~

here's a story of me kena cucuk, not the other way round.
i just came back from taiping and a honda accord cucuk me from back, i maxed out at 170, as u know meter won't go higher, but managed to lose him before the tunnel (from north). slowed down coz was going uphill and car losing power biggrin.gif but i think the accord wasn't as balanced as the gen2 cps coz i was doing 120 and see him so far behind. after tunnel one lane closed so no overtaking biggrin.gif passed through changkat jering toll side by side using smartag and the accord accelerated like mad. i couldn't catch up biggrin.gif i saw that it was a 2.4 accord when he zoomed past

Modding talk~ Man do I need upgrades. Pooling my cash first tho.

Been outstation a lot so lost touch with this thread haha~ Anyways yesterday, coming back from JB a Gen2 Campro main cucuk2 with me and overtook me when I pressed full throttle. He got better acceleration than I did blink.gif shocking.gif He let me overtake him after that and then overtook me again when I was doing --->

I sped followed him and then he let me overtake again. This time he couldn't overtake. See my speed biggrin.gif Anyway I accidentally took a video so this pic smaller haha

So good thing I know now CPS engine can get me to 200. thumbup.gif Bad thing I feel bad a Gen2 Campro could accelerate better cry.gif

I'll link up the video later. It's taking so long to upload~~

If someone like to cucuk, most probably his car are modded. I don't seems to have any problem in pick up when playing with gen2 and neo campro who cucuk me. But really sad when reach 195 as they can easily overtake me. And that include Vios also. sweat.gif
*
Oh man, vios also can overtake ma? Usually I could lose them but maybe coz they just afraid to accelerate sweat.gif

No problem in pick up but problem in top speed as Vios can go past 200 especially if modded, but CPS only 200 (ECU limit).

K&N + exhaust mod should be enough to satisfy u.
*
I see~ So vios top speed is better. Well, won't think of removing speed limiter since reaching 200 also takes a bit of time rite now. Need a bit more oomph before thinking of that.

The exhaust mod I'm thinking of waiting for RACE to complete their Gen2 CPS exhaust system design. Maybe I'll check the K&N drop ins later. Know a place that has great price?

Actually, 4th gear can reach 180 quite fast, but when shift to 5th, the rpm drop until 5k and do not exceed 5.4k even when full throttle. I suspect the ECU are limited.

Bought mine from kangyoon in the automotive garage subforum, RM245 including postage.

From the dyno I've done and compared with the stock dyno (from paultan), it seems like all the mod I've done mostly increase the torque and not power...wonder why, maybe because the siemen ECU hmm.gif
*
Torque increase is ok what. Means better acceleration. Faster overtaking. 245 is a good price. I'll check the automotive garage section later.

Anyway, I did notice 4th gear acceleration is really good. Zoom straight to 180 like nothing. Every gear after 5k RPM engine revs to 6.5k very fast but 5th gear like soooo siput wan~ Stuck like u said la about 5.4k and no more wind to run

Also R3 parts are mostly out of stock right now. That's information from RACE and Proton Platinum Centre in Damansara. Apparently R3 stopped production end of 2008 and haven't started new production.

For servicing the COE is not far from your place, it's in glenmarie. I only service twice so far. Once proton authorised SC in Bangi, Spin automotive services and The Damansara Mutiara Platinum Service Centre. I'd be going to spin again next time as the Platinum centre very slow and they charge extra for small things like filling up my wiper fluid.

True that. Turbo maintenance also more. I used to drive stock turbocharged car before. Lots more to check and change also. Remember turbo runs hot.

Yea, also another reason for me to not go to proton SC anymore after this. Any recommendations on engine oil sphiroth? I'm thinking of going for perf oils since I really push my car lots. Wonder about gearbox oil also. Any good to change to performance ones??
