I finally caved in and got myself an Original Night Black unit!
It's charging as I'm typing this but my initial trial with it is pretty impressive. I'm not the type of user the changes phones everytime a new model comes out. My last phone as the iPhone which was an impulse buy. Before that was a K800i which I bought because my phone at that time (NOKIA 6610) was starting to fail me after more than 4 years of using it. I'll split up my experience into categories, and of course, compare with phones that I currently own and have tried out. The following phones are models which I bought/tested recently within the last 2 - 3 years or so: a) APPLE iPhone 2G (16 GB) - using b) SE K800i - using c) NOKIA N85 - using d) NOKIA 5800 - tested BUILD The C905 feels really solid. It doesn't feel too heavy to me (my iPhone's pretty heavy as well) and I like the design of the phone. Some gaps between the slider (top - screen) and the phone (bottom - keypad) but I'm told that its pretty normal. It feels solid in my hands, and the feel is a little rubbery - like the SE K800i. USER EXPERIENCE I was expecting a SE K800-ish experience but I was really surprised at how fast the phone is. I kind of get the feeling that the K800i seems to lag a little now if compared to this. The N85 seems to lags a little too. I also bought a Nokia N85 before getting this C905, and I find the buttons on the N85 a little stiff. I've also tested out the new Nokia 5800 (Tube) and I find the touch screen a little lacking. Maybe I've been spoilt by my 16GB 2G APPLE iPhone. I've never actually tried other touchscreen phones (bad experience with SAMSUNG), never really checked out HTC as well. Comparing my iPhone and the Tube, nothing beats the iPhone touchscreen experience IMO. Surfing the web on Safari is awesome as well. The only 2 little complaints I have about the SE C905 are: a) the placement of the Fast port for charger/headphones b) the battery cover is pretty hard to remove Now - you might ask why I need so many phones, and the truth is, in my line of work, I find that having 2 phones is beneficial. I think I'll use my iPhone as my multimedia device now, and this C905 as my primary phone + camera. Maybe I'll take some photos tomorrow in the day time, when there's more light. Haven't fully tested out all the functions yet, but I'm very, very, very happy with my purchase This post has been edited by Bigfoot-X: Jan 25 2009, 12:50 AM |

Some of my shots using the C905. Not much editing has been done, save for resizing and sharpening.

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jan 25 2009, 03:15 AM) y is it when people take pictures to show off the camera or wat not they tend to take pictures of food??? firstly...they take pics of food because it's close range and usually it's in a well lighted place. so almost all cameraphones look nice because it's close range.i just cant understand it....everywhere u go u get pictures of food... obesity is already a big problem in a lot of countries.....stop tempting people la! 2nd. they take pics of food because it doesn't have squares, or fixed shapes, or visible lines so it will be easy to make even a bad cameraphone look good at those kind of pics. 3rd. colour wise foods does not have a fixed colour, so it will also be easier to fool people that the food's colour looks as it supposed to be even when it's not. |
