I'm havingproblem with my c905. The earpiece isn't working. Bought it during CNY, and already need to send it for repair. How unlucky

Can anyone tell me which one is the latest firmware ?
Cause today I take my phone to SE service center ...
They say there is no new firmware ...

Yours is old firmware. You check if you got smile shutter, youtube, wayfinder 8, walkmate, track, etc in your phone.

Which SE service center you brought to? I prefer the 1 in Amcorp mall and near Leisure Mall.

ur C905 is AP set rite? if u read this thread closely, those AP C905 that has production week 08W50 or before that have earpiece problem. after 08W50 or so, the problem is fixed. so... check the sticker behind ur phone. =D

Nope, not newest. Is ur phone AP set? if AP set then sometimes the phone's original region might not update yet.
if original, then the SE service center ppl must have been wrong. =p

I bring it to the SE service center @ Tmn Segar ....
They just say 2 me my 1 is the latest

That's weird. Cause that day I brought to them to fix the keypad they asked if wanted to update the firmware or not as there is new version. I told I updated with SEUS.

Maybe you try with SEUS. Very easy DIY.

well update with SEUS..sometimes can harm your phone...just send it to centre...anyway..how about updating through phone..it is the easiest method..

grr.. mine updated already still does not have the sms conversation feature.lol

Finally, my earphone spoilt edi ytday. Firstly ytday I thought network prob so no sound, today friend called, no sound again, checked, then only realize it's spoilt.

My phone more than 3 months edi, asked some shops, they said warranty for earphone is only forst 1st 3 months Needa repair.

Anyone got any idea approx. how much will it cost for the earphone repairing?

*Btw sending to warranty, how long does it takes for them to fix ah? Friend tell me his phone but other model, send in, waited almost for a month only get back. 1 month without phone can die =(

I've tried updating through phone doesn't detect the latest firmware. Only SEUS can detect the latest firmware.

What do you mean SEUS will harm your phone? I think it can update the firmware or got problems updating. 50% chance.

If you're scared to DIY then bring it to the authorized SE service center.

If something happened during SEUS you can bring back to SE service center and they can re-flash the firmware for you as they got the tools we don't have.

now the only way for simple locking and no locking the phone is to put the option in shortcut. not like w910 just press the on/off button

ya lor joey... Today i straight went to sungei wang to ask around. Firstly there's this shop say can fix, 130 bucks, 45 minutes...Ok lor, abit expensive but the time needed is just 45 mins, after 45 mins, he tell me cant make it, cause need specific tools to open it up. Therefore, failed

Tomorrow, going to Telstra in Lowyat to ask how long is needed. If it's long, I might as well send to SE service centre in plaza berjaya, and pay for the parts zzzzz...

If you send for warranty its different...if u send an AP phone to original SE service centre, ull have to pay, but then, you'll get it within a day or 2...

Paid ori phones > Paid AP phones > warranty repairs...

I'm scared will cost a bomb to repair the earphone. Even the keypad is about RM200+ for expired warranty or AP C905.

Is it for the keypad + the navigation keys (up down left right), or keypad alone? Any idea how much is the navigation keypad? Mine the down key cacated

Btw, it's a ribbon, not the earphone I asked some shops. The ribbon that spoilt caused the earphone to not function. Anyway, I think I'll consult at SE service centre tomorrow, and if it's expensive/takes a long time to repair, I might as well send for warranty.

@nixonyang: yeah, unrar the klang valley maps along wif maketar.bat and another tar related file into a folder 1st. then only double click the maketar.bat.

@blurjoey: i service my keypad for RM0. haha. under warranty. yeay! =D
