Okay, so I am going to sound like a bimbo, but I like books with great covers. Embossed covers are even better! After falling in love with the cover I'll go to the synopsis part and read them, if okay, then I'll look for an excerpt of the author's work. If he/she is someone I can stand reading, I'll buy the book.
That's why I don't have a specific preference when it comes to books. I read everything. (Back of shampoo bottles included). |

QUOTE(IcedNyior @ Jan 20 2009, 04:00 PM) oo I loved those kinda books when I was younger. Lone Wolf? What's that? --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lone_Wolf_(gamebooks)i like mystery and thriller - crime solving stuff It's a role-playing gamebook. Think of it like Choose Your Own Adventure + game statistics (lifebar, magic bar, number of arrows, thickness of your armor, etc). On any pages where you meet an opponent, you have to defeat the opponent in order to move on to the following page. A simple example: - Lets say your life now is 20, his life is 10. You start first - You roll a dice, and if you hit 6, that means you hit him and deduct his life by 6 points (so that now his life is left as 4). - Next is the opponent's turn; you roll the dice again and this time you get 5, which means he hits you and it deducted your life till 15 now. So this continues on until either you win, or you lose. If you win, with your remaining life, you continue to the following pages and on with your adventure. If you lose, you start back from the start |

Heh.also loved Chic-Lit as well as non-fiction types... I enjoyed mystery as well.... Chic-Lit is actually fairly enjoyable (God, damn me now). My sister loves Sophie Kinsella and when she's done with those books, she chucks them in the cabinet in my room. Every time I go back to my hometown I find new Chic-Lit waiting for me. Makes good toilet reading material. |

I don't know what are mine. Or rather, too diverse.
I know Hitchhiker's Guide would be SciFi/Humour. But others like Catcher In The Rye, 1984, About A Boy, I don't know what they should be classified as. I think they fit best into "Contemporary Classics". I like books about society though, if you get what I mean. About people. |

I can't choose just one. I prefer fantasy or thrillers. And chic-lit. I can't seem to finish a romance book, like a real heavy Danielle Steel one. Haha. I find them boring.

I don't really have a set preference. I kinda lean towards the thriller, horror genre. But from time to time, I also love to read the lighter stuff, things that doesn't require me to think as much...

Fantasy & Science Fiction (which are different genres BTW).
Someoen should either edit the poll to include Sci-Fi as a choice or change the Fantasy option to SF & F (Science Fiction & Fantasy). |

I read waay to many Star Wars. It's the only thing i read. lol
I read other novels than SW as well tho, from writers such as James Follett, Alistair MacLean, and also Michael Crichton just to name a few. I guess it's mostly fictions and thrillers that i love. |

Sci-fi and fantasy. Actually I like any books that based on a game, like warcraft, perfect dark, halo, forgotten realms and warhammer 40k. Want to know more about the lore.

i like humorous type... after all laughter is the best medicine... but i also like adventure type... it's a good way to get into action since sometimes i feel movies are over-rated...
