There are so many possibilities for that to happen. Did you try to reinstall to see if the problem persists?

not entirely sure about ur prob... try giving us more information, eg the blue screen screen shot, pc specs, etc
if its the normal BSOD, i would suggest checking ur RAM.. try taking it out and placing it in again, tightly..

If that's the case then you should give more information on what the BSOD says. Did you install any new hardware/software prior to that? Did you try safe mode or use the restore point, etc?

You need to repeatedly press F8 while booting up and select "safe mode" from the option list. If you can't do that then it's a bit hard to troubleshoot further.

BSOD= Blue Screen of Death. I experienced it before when i installed a 3rd party software that hacks into my system, then i experienced BSOD after i restart pc. Keep coming out BSOD after i typed password and login. Then I went into save mode and deleted the software, tada! it's done... When BSOD comes out, you see what object that causes BSOD in the blue screen. Or maybe u can refer to this link: http://www.vistaforums.com/Forum/Topic16313-9-1.aspx
