Got a Q, is it normal for maltese puppies to have extra tearing / tearstains when they are teething between 5-8mths?

Another thing bout feeding your pet... just like any toddler, dont overfeed and dont let them be too hyper after eating (e.g. jump up and down the sofa), else they might vomit.

If I may ask, how come Jasmine's mouth area so dark? Is it the lighting or stain?

Peak_wei88,
Just some input for you. 1. If you're renting a room, why would you need a cage? 2. Not wanting to spoil a breeder's business, but before you get a dog, you have to really think through very hard about this COMMITMENT, its like having a baby for 10-15 years. 3. Except that if its a human baby, after a few years, it can eat, shit and cleanup by itself. A dog cant. You literally have to take care of the 'baby' for life. 4. Do you think you can be attentive to the dog and make an effort to learn its behavioral patterns, i.e. as it grows older it can 'talk' to you. E.g. I have established an understanding with my dog whereby she will 'call' me for certain things, like she wants to go pee, or she wants to eat, etc. 5. How well will you take care of it? IMO, just feeding it the basic, cleaning up its poo, taking it out for a walk once in 6mths, taking it for a shower/grooming once in 3-6mths, bringing it to a vet only when a sickness/disease is severe, etc IS NOT taking care of a dog. Its just having a dog and its suffering silently. 6. The list can go on, but the bottomline is this a) Do you see yourself being accountable or have ownership of the dog for life? Or will you have it for a few years and then give it up for adoption? Alot of pet owners always say they are the former, but end up being the latter. b) On one end of the tangent, there are pet owners (oh I have a dog!) and on the other end, there are 'father/mother' to dogs (really really treat the dog like their own and really taken care very well. So where do you measure up? Added on June 27, 2010, 2:54 am QUOTE(muchan86 @ Jun 26 2010, 03:45 AM) The mouth area is kinda 'dirty' or u may say she got stain around her mouth. In fact she got 'stain' for almost everywhere i.e. all 4 legs, tear stains and the mouth area. I've been trying to deal with it by feeding her some supplement and constantly wipe the tear stain and prevent her to lick her legs to make sure the fur wont be so wet or the stain wont heal. So far she kinda improve compare to a month ago when I just adopted her Yea most likely prev owner/breeder never take care properly. Have you tried shaving her (or a crew cut) to do a 'reset'? QUOTE(muchan86 @ Jul 8 2010, 12:24 AM) not really. She will pee on the pampers for sure but will poo as usual la cuz the pampers didn't wrap until her butt there mah. Hey, you got a pic of the pampers ah? or got a link for me to refer too? Somehow when I think of pampers, I imagine the baby ones! lolQUOTE(lipglosseater @ Jul 8 2010, 10:02 AM) Nowadays her tear stains are getting quite bad! Sometimes, doing too much actually makes it worse. |

How would you know shes doing it on purpose, i.e. being mad and to get back at you?
Perhaps shes not 100% trained well yet? |
