Cutevb/Muchan: can you please advise how do you take care of the puppy's eyes area?  icon_question.gif  I have used the facial cotton (with the contact lens solution) to wipe , then, put some Vaseline gel around the eye area, then put some baby powder..... does it sounds right?  rclxub.gif
*
R u sure u wan to use powder? blush.gif coz it can irritates d eyes and make them tears more..Also the vaseline...You can wipe the eye wax wit saline, bt after that try to keep that area as dry as possible to prevent bacteria growth..

http://homeapet.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=...t&sd=a&start=20

It reli helps bt provided there's no other causes of the stain tat remain...eg,earmites, tear duct blocked etc..

I think most of the dogs dun like us to blow dry their face as they feel uncomfortable with the air entering their nose, eyes i guess..

I agree wit cutevb19 tat frequent blow drying will dry up their hair..moreover, their hair is much much more fragile than our hair..

Thank you...I would admit that when they hav heavy tearstain,it was an unpleasent sight..Faustina had HnS when she's a pup and it actually comes back when she got cutting teeth..then i gav her again and d tearstain gone..

Charlie got sensitive skin..anything can irritates his skin..recently,he got his tears flowing non stop and make the tearstain come back..now,he's new hair on the mouthpart is white..

Oh ya...crying also will sometimes cause tearstain...good luck ya.. tongue.gif

I gave her when she's bout 8mths old..that's where she hav worst tearstain due to the cutting teeth..

Robey...dun worry bout the less poo or less frequent poo...it's normal coz you're feeding barf..they absorb the food better compared to kibbles..if u feed kibbles, you can expect more poops and sometimes even twice a day...

My Charlie n Fausti oredi get used to barf and the food intake quantity is more consistant..i mean, both of them will eat around 300gm a day or 5% of their body weight....mayb too much,bt they sustain their weight wit 5% so i continue with it...even wit tat amount, they dun poo everyday..sometimes 2 days once...normal wan..

Spring is so cute.....btw is a boy o gal?

My boy pee more yellow compared to my gal...i dunno if tat's normal bt both of them drinks a lot of water...Charlie's pee can flood d wee wee pad..

Reason puppy pee more frequent and less amount is they cant hold pee in their bladder for long time...in days to come, they'll hav better control..

Hi mates,

My maltese is 4 months plus, finished all vaccination.  I wonder if it's ok to feed him with bones once in a while.  Aren't dogs suppose to chew on bones (maybe eat them too)???  Please let me know ok.  Thanks.
*
Bones are ok PROVIDED it's raw....cooked bones are dangerous...and too much bones can cause constipation smile.gif

referring to other post... bone is good for them but not the cooked bone  sweat.gif
I've been feeding my dog with raw food and bone together for almost a year...
and based on ur story, I assume those bones that u fed ur dog is cooked bone as u said its not purposely cook for them but the one that u guys eat. That is called cooked bone and NOT GOOD for dogs cuz the bone can choke them. but uncooked bone is softer and good for them to chew. Mine like to chew the bones and good for the teeth as well..

Hope u understand.. but no offence thou.. since me n some of us fed barf aka raw food to our kids we just want to share our knowledge to some other ppl. But if u still think that bone is dangerous then I will just let u judge it urself then smile.gif
*
Agree.....I know some tat even giv their mid size dog lamb bones...bt of course it depends on how far ur dog can go la...bones are one source of calcium too...And for maltese, particularly long haired and white, i prefer to feed them meaty bones... wink.gif

Oh....thanks for the info, I didnt know that uncooked bones are softer  blush.gif
I just feed my silky terrier the dog food [sportman pride]
Yea I wanna ask, the uncooked bone is those we just buy from market izit?
*
Yupe it's raw meaty bones...it's nt softer...jus tat their stomach built to digest it better...U can freeze it for a few days as it can help in killing some of the bacteria.. tongue.gif

different is their poo laugh.gif
if u fed barf they less poo n less smell smile.gif
mine even poo only small pieces and 1 time a day only LOL
*
Agree....and for long white coat dogs,it wont stick to their fur everytime they poo....and they have lesser health issue as well... rclxms.gif
