I don't own any maltese, i own a male rottweiler puppy now 3months old called ozzie.
cos i dunno how to groom long hair breed... hehehe...

The method I'm using actually gather frm all kind of dog breed books I read from, including small breed books also internet research.
So here, I'm just sharing what I have read and experience, trial and error...

As for me, the way of taking care a pup is still the same whether they are small or large breed.
We just need more patience and observations... don't rush to it...

And I haven't feed my pup BARF yet, I'll wait till he 6 months old, now i'm feeding him kibbles cos dry food won't build up as much plague as BARF and I don't want he has teeth problem another reason also cos he's still young the immune system not strong yet although he gets his boosters, i want to build up his immune system 1st, before feeding him BARF.
I prefer to take things slow. I'm a slomo
But sometimes I do give him raw meat as a treat...

Frm wat i read, i tot kibbles r more likely 2 coz potential teeth problem than barf. Eventhough i supported barf n believe tat by nature dog's intestine is more acidic than human thus can tk in raw n kill off d bacteria, i stil rinse it wif boil water b4 i crush it. Nothing against kibbles but stil it is a processed food. Actually i can c a difference between dogs tking barf n kibbles...my sis feed her schnauzer wif kibbles n it is a routine tat after 15-20min of eating she wil poo...n keep on going. My sis has complained tat her dog @ 1 time even poo up 2 8 times a day...average 6 times/day. I do believed tat d nutrition in kibbles r quite balance but d question is how much can a dog absord!!??

Hehehe.. dun be so kan jiong... puppy is like dat... they will pee n poo alot as they havent learn how to hold their bladder...

Mikey used to be like dat.... and i was working too when i took mikey back home with me....
I only manage to feed him 2 times a day... morning and late afternoon when i back from work. And this has been continue until now....

Dont worry too much.... Spring is doing fine
If you think that spring is getting plummer... mayb u can give her lesser amount of food (especially if u r feeding her treats often)...

when u bath a puppy make sure the water din kena her face esp nose n eyes and also make sure the water din go into her ears. If water go insider her ears u can always use the earific to clean the excess water on the ear

Yeah I'm agree with you abt kibbles, not much nutrition left after being processed... but still sometimes kibbles help when we are going to be busy or send our dog to boarding, cos most pet boarding feed kibbles... there's good and bad abt kibbles and barf, barf we cannot left it too long and some pet boarding who feed BARF they might not so responsible, they might just add everything inside, whether it fresh or not and doesn't even measure it then feed our dogs, our dogs might starve or too full till bloated...

about your sis' dog I think she should change to BARF or to a better Kibbles brand or mix kibbles with meat, I feed mine with kibbles and meat (dog can food - 1/2 can)...
if want to mix kibbles with meat remember to measure according to their breed, mine is large breed so i give 1/2can, small breed maybe a quarter or more a bit...

about bath, just prevent the soap frm eyes and mouth and nose...

Don't let your puppy drink too much water, after 7.30pm u can take away the water, if she's thirsty, just feed her ice cube or give small amount of water...
cos too much water, they'll get Gastro Intestinal, puppy will drink too much when they are nervous and bored.

I bath my Spring baby tis noon in my bathtub so tat she cun run away...haha Well, except some shivering n moving ard...she did fine Tq 4 all d advices

and don't forget to mention if she's in bad mood after showering? haha
I just shower autumn also.. and of course she's bad mood after I bath her.. if I call her just look at me then walk away

but she did became more behave and listen to me after I 'board' her at sifu house muahauhauah now I can open my door room big big and she wont dare to walk out from my room cuz I told her if u walk out u sleep outside then whole day she just stick to me and do not dare to walk out from my room sounds cruel eh? but at least she listen to me more -.-" before this I say what also dun care lol

Regarding building up of plague, the information of eating kibbles will helps not building up plague is come from kibbles companies, well, marketing. But think about it, imagine we human are chewing on biscuits, how messy would it be on our teeth? Same for dogs. In fact, if you are asking BARF feeders, most of their dogs have sparkling teeth. The trick is throw in some raw bones for them to chew on every now and then.

But of corse, feeding a good brand kibble wouldn't make a dog do very badly, they should be able to leads a healthy life too given the additional supplements added such as "enzymes + probiotics", "multi-vitamins", "skin + coat supplements" for long coat dogs, "glucosamines" for older dogs or larger breeds or even toy breeds which face hip problems etc.

Well, if you do know of the way, you can rinse. Just arrange a day with Ying and ask her to show you the right way to bath. You will be impressed how "easy" she do it.

I got 2 trusted ppl for boarding... 1 is my sifu of course! but I dun think my sifu offer boarding. This one need to ask them 1st willing to take spring for boarding or not lol and my sifu u also know wan hahaha xD

another recommended person is shayne cuz before this I board my autumn at her home boarding service and the family pampered my girl so much

FLUFF got offer boarding service, 1 dog at a time, well u sure know la we don't cage the dogs, dont chuck them in dark room. RM50 per day. Most expensive in town!

We don't offer boarding service, we only offer military school, RM100 per day. Potong ppl kao kao that type.
