I've been looking to buy games and notice that different region got different price. It seems like the US region(1) one is cheaper than Asia version.

So, is this the only advantage or is there other disadvantage of buying game disc not from your region or no difference at all?

Usually aim for DLC games, not all DLC content can be downloaded, even its free..plus some games are region locked for online play and DLC, you need to create other ID to access the download

Also version patch download sometimes slower online update for some regions

And of course, the language barrier.

Yes, it PS3 i'm refering to. Yes, i saw this burnout paradise game on play-asia of which region 1 is cheaper than region 3...So, I was thinking is it perfectly okay to buy games from Region 1 as well or is it even better? Or better to always stick to region 3 whenever possible

PA or Sony center offer lower price for not so new games..

Easy to said, Region 1 is the FTW..region 3 is always cheaper for new game

if you asked me, it's better to stick to R1 whenever possible. most of DLC is targeted for R1...and R3 is left behind.


but it come at a cost, damn expensive compare to R3

TS, just buy R1 for online play and downloadable content...
buy R3 is for single player without any update patch or download

So, whenever region 1 is cheaper than region 3 in my case here, then the obvious choice is region 1 then...ok thanks a lot guys for helping out here...
