hi iPhone lovers/critics

i will be coordinating (not organising) an outing for fellow users. however for this round, it will be done differently for two reasons; 1. the venue isn't starbucks (finally!!!) 2. it will be an eating outing with a get together motive in mind.

with respect to the second reason, this outing will unlikely be a troubleshooting/upgrading event (as seen in previous TTs) unfortunately. let's face this, no one wants to hold their utensils and have to keep looking out at an iPhone plugged into a laptop whilst eating. however if there is a definite need for such technical support, i could perhaps prearrange something (hence please provide your feed backs throughout this thread)

the date (01/02/09) and time (probably around 7-ish) are tentatively confirmed. i welcome all sorts of suggestions for the venue with two criteria in tact; 1. the venue can provide a round table (from my previous experience, a long horizontal table will likely isolate individuals and create an outcast situation) 2. reasonably priced (rm30-40 per person perhaps?)

let's try to make this outing possible and keep your ideas pouring in alright? personally, i'm hoping that this could be a successful one as i have a slight selfish ulterior motive preloaded; i'll be furthering my studies soon and wanna meet old acquaintances whom i have befriended from this forum throughout my time here before departure.

we usually hang out long what all the time during TT never 1 or 2 hours hahaha always minimum 4 hours!

just a friendly reminder, the proposed venue has to be "halal".

not that i'm poking at anyone here (so please don't blow this out of proportion), but some muslim brothers do not like the idea of non-muslims manning the restaurant despite being certified "halal".

This sounds interesting. SHOULD be able to count myself in as long as it isn't too far out of the way. Looking forward to finally getting to know some of the peeps here in person too.

P.S. Will the gathering revolve around the concept of a social makan outing or an iPhone geekster meetup with a lotta bling bling? Just need to get the idea right.

If the venue is lalachong at Subang old airport there i most probably will be in..love the butter prawn and salted egg crabs!!

eh how about restaurant talipon along ldp (opposite kelana jaya lrt station)

i heard that it is quite good for its price; buffet style! hence no qualms about splitting bill later.

the table is round and no problem regarding transportation (since it is located opposite the lrt station)

rm20-ish per person

i will check out the place myself this week (fingers crossed).

i'm not ashamed to admit that i cannot afford hotel cuisine food or anything expensive (for obvious reasons) as i'm on a very tight budget restriction

just right near my place

i prefer a place which is wide n bright indoor, which can order drinks n some snack, that is good enuff
a place we can talk more crap instead

but that's my own opinion lar
i still depend on my sis i can make it on that day or not
as ur guys know the next day monday is wilayah public holiday
she said wanna stay at hometown 1 more day wor
hopefully i can make it

-food not too bad (at least not too pricey? )
-drink not bad as well

cons:
duno what time they close
is not round table

wah belum tidur? anything la. IMHO, if there is nowhere "special" (i.e. no other feasible suggestion) i think a simple lunch will also do fine.

as the main reason for me organising this TT (selfish reason) is for me to meet up with LYN members before my departure to melbourne.

Majority rules in this case. Those who can come on the 1st, please do so. Dont have to change it to 31st if everyone already plan their date around the 1st. I can always meet Nokia in Melbourne anytime later. My treat at Esteler 77 there later on we're there, Nokia bro!

KLCC kalu, mau itu meja bulat punya aaa macha, I think oni Little Penang ada woh. Tat wun oso limited, hafta book early.

If you're not concern with the table dimension/shape, then all bets are off, semua boleh! There's Madam Kwan, Little Penang, Chilli's (personal favourite, great atmosphere), Rasa/Signatures Food Court. Around there (but not inside KLCC lah), got the Nasi Kandar on Jln. Yap Kwan Seng, or Pelita on Jln. Ampang.

Come to think of it, Bukit Bintang has lots more eateries and choices.....not sure if they have meja bulat though. Pavillion's Food Court is awesome humongous, not to mention the specific eateries/restaurants inside.

Yay for Chilli's! Chilli's itu looks oni expensive, not that lavish really. Try the Chicken Crispers with either Pepper Gravy or Honey Chipotle sauce. Oh man......I'm salivating already!

Looking at the list, it's only maybe 10-15 people max. Chili's can easily accommodate that number, the only thing is they're strict about the group being there before they let you in so I don't think it's an ideal place because I know people will be late

Pavillion's food court as suggested by string is a great place, excellent food IMO. Alternatively if you guys still want to do a Texmex place TGIF is usually quieter and easier to get than Chilli's.

i'm not sure whether this will work out or not but apparently my friend is working in some media thingy and he's cracking his head for a feature
so i suggested him about our TT, and what he planned is a videography of the TT, its just a feature and most probably it wont even see the light of day

so if you guys are really not comfortable in getting a recording of the thing, i would just ask him to shelve the initial idea

so any inputs and objections?
