I m currently applying visa online, however i not sure bout the information they want:

Your proposed arrival date : 14 feb 09
Your proposed departure date : what does this mean? they stated there depart from aus, which means the time i finish my course? should i put it as 14 feb 2010 as my course duration is 1 yr?
*
refer to your COE. there should be stating the end date of your studies.

Students under 18 need to be homestay. No mater you like it or not. Please contact with your university for more information.
*
International students who are under the age of 18 years and who will be studying on a student visa are required by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) to have care and accommodation provided by:

* a parent or homestay
* a suitable nominated relative, or
* the University

A suitable relative is defined by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) as, a grandparent, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew, or a step-grandparent, step-brother, step-sister, step-aunt, step-uncle, step-niece or step-nephew. A suitable nominated relative must be over 21 years of age.

Since I was underaged when I got to Australia, I was living in Unilodge@UNSW under the care of the Unilodge on behalf on the university. Beats homestay I reckon smile.gif

What is this "correct type" of ticket? I always thought there is only 1st class, Business Class and Economy Class. Is there such thing as Student Class to qualify for 30-kg?

They are R type, Y type and so on in which I myself am not so sure about.

i saw the protest yesterday noon at state library,melbourne
not really a protest but i think held by international students organization to appeal for concession fare for international students...
if success then will be great biggrin.gif

I heard in 2007, NSW international students won against the NSW government in court to have the rights for concession but then, the NSW government brought the case to the higher court so I guess they're still fighting. Wont be over in 2-3 more years I reckon
