It depends. While a studio has only one bed, most of the time it seems to be a queen sized bed at least. Probably wouldn't mind that if you're bringing your partner over. I do know some people in Unilodge Brisbane who stay in one place and have their other half (^_^) staying with them.

Unilodge is expensive, but at least they are geared for students. My advice would be to probably try to get a place instead of worrying about finding accommodation, get used to the place, then probably move out during the mid-year break once you are more familiar with the place.

Homestay is the easiest and the most convenient way. No bond and no contract. You can move anytime as long as you inform them 2 weeks in advance.

You can write down what are your requirements and they will help you find based on what you request.

Good luck^^ (Happy CNY if you are Chinese)

Take anything you can find! Vacancy rate in Melbourne is 1% at the moment! Crazy shit. Only better than Sydney, maybe not even.

yeah. get any place you can find.
ANY!! make sure you buy the sunday age and go through the listings there as well.

when uni is about to start its soooo damn difficult to find a place. maybe you can find a friends place to stay for one month or something like that.

i was lucky i got to stay with my cousin for 2-3 weeks. it really helps. cause its cheaper and you dont get TOO stressed.

why you bringing photostated books? like textbooks? must be a lot of pages. i dunno about getting through immigration. but in aussie itself a lot of people do photostat the books. i dont see a problem with it other than the WEIGHT. it might be easier for you to post it over there to a friends house or something. unless you really got the space.
