I don't think you should let sad childhood be a factor of having little confidence in your life. People's life will change. The past is the past. It's not something that is happening now. Most important thing is how you look on your present. Try to open up yourself to the world, and soon you will realize that there is so much more in life that you can live and enjoy

As long as you allow yourself to be open minded and open up to everything, you will be able to see more in life and thus, gaining a lot of experience in the process. Before you knew it, you have just earned yourself self-confidence and self-esteem as you grow older.

Well I think there are many people who could say bad experiences have lessened their confidence and many people have been bullied in their life.  It's just learning to ignore those people.  Obviously they aren't worth giving the time of day to if they are going to be bullies.  Just try a little every day to show a bit of yourself.  It takes time but it gets easier and easier.
