If you are referring to Computer Multimedia Speakers, the pair of speakers of small compact dimensions (roughly 3.5" x 6" x 4" in overall dimensions) ever since called Multimedia Speakers during the time of (jaaa Intel 386XT PC's back in around 1989 and to this day known as such, the best ever is this Make and Model:

No. 1 Best Multimedia Speakers : The Bose Computer Music Monitor

They're made by Bose USA, the worldwide renowned North American speakers manufacturer. If you disagree, then i would doubt if you've actually even had a pair of these. Their sound reproduction quality is clearly way better than, say, the Altec Lansing ATP3 2.1 Speaker System- which certainly do not qualify as "Multimedia Speakers" because the ATP3 has a Subwoofer and is clearly a 2.1 Speaker System.

To give you an idea of what to expect, they cost about USD400.00...

Sheesh, what made you guys thinks such brands as Altec Lansing, Sonic Tatoo, or Creative Labs would pass off at the best.... Very funny. Better hear out a pair of these though, before hitting back at me for thinking of you funny... "Altec Lansing", the best- sheesh...

If you want just a simple pair of multimedia speakers that are better than the "generic" el cheapo ones whose wires are even too short to cut manufacturing costs to a minimum (the ones that sound like it's coming from a tin can), you can go frugal on the expense and get the Creative SBS345 instead- at least the sound quality of these do not sound like they're coming from a tin can, which is frugal living enough and will just set you back USD10.00...

As for the 2.1, 5.1, and 7.1 Speaker Systems that you already have mentioned or may mention, i am wondering why stop there and not go a real Amplifier and, say, KEF Audiophile Speakers setup for example? Since you've already been stretching the term "Multimedia Speakers" at any rate...

the title of this thread should be The Best PC Speaker Setup You Ever Had instead of the current 1. tongue.gif

My apologies, i missed this post... If so, then it's not funny if you say Altec Lansing or sorts- it's good to have had tried these too. But if you want the two little speakers type of thingy, that Bose is really pretty good. Just don't expect "Audiophile Levels of Sound Reproduction", even if it's a Bose- the two little speakers type of thingy really are just for general computer use such as surfing the web (youtube type of things), as well as perhaps listen to a little music while using your computer.
