The now-defunct Altec Lansing ACS45.1 is the best ever computer speaker I ever had. Altec Lansing ATP3 and my current Edifier e3100 are no match for it.

IMHO, this is very depending to own preferences...someone likes bassy sound, someone like crisp and clear sound, someone likes balance output.....pretty much depends on personal taste.....myself would prefer cambridge soundworks. being using a creative A300 2.1 speaker now, the performance is quite balance and it is a bang for buck speaker

I used creative 5.1 Megaworks 550 before, the overall sound is excellent, Logitech is good but emphasized too much on bass, so ppl who like thumping maybe like logitech, for altec lansing, they seem to be good overall but lacking in contrast with mids & highs compare to creative and bass compare to logitech.

Klipsch promedia is fantastic since they build home entertainment speakers but seems like it is not durable due to blown fuse issue.
