hi hi from singapore for awhile

yes the battery will drain faster under dual mode than GSM only

also I think his problem could be an open application/game or somethin.

I kno if u leave the radio/music player/ngage game all night the battery could die very fast icon_rolleyes.gif

make sure u don't have any open apps Litueva sweat.gif

I ended up buying a used N78 instead of N82(hooked up with 2 very hassle seller[FFK to sell me aih]) -.-..but am very happy with it really.. the speed, battery life, performance...its packed!

Yesterday with full battery, I on wifi for straight 9 hours and a half n lost 3 bars, which is acceptable for me because once I finish working, I straight charge in car... torrent is fast as well.

But the downside is that sometimes my hp always auto-restart when Im about to launch an app, ppl say it's when got incoming text message... issit can be fixed? really annoying de -.-... and upgrading firmware, issit easy? jz use Nokia suite can upgrade bo?

n 1 last thing, I still can't get my hands on Video player.. I tried Core player, but phone said, "Cant install app from untrusted source" blabla...=x

Hope to get some helps from sifus2 here since N78 thread is so dead...TS jz started 1 n ciao ..aih

Yes, you can update ur firmware through NSU if there is a new firmware available. You need to sign the app before install if it is unsign.

yes, dual mode is better
infact im using it...
u need it for video call

actually the battery will consume a bit more (abit mean very very little)
not noticeable gain if u turn it off

dual mode means the phone will prefer 3G network over GSM when it detects both networks are available ?

If Dual-Mode, and you are always in 3G coverage area, then the battery usage difference is not that much.

However, if you travel a lot, and the area of coverage is mixed with GSM & UMTS, then when the phone is locked onto GSM, it will constantly try to search for UMTS signal to lock. This will take up more battery life than a little.

e.g. Underground car park, tunnel, home coverage, inside home.
