my opinion is we should punt on the stocks that we know/familiar of especially the ones that we are still holding on. Sometimes the stock that you hold do have its run-ups , right? so I believe that is the time to have a bet.
Even if the bet fails, at least we still can average down the price.(provided bought at a lower price)

Especially CIMB and BHIC

MISC tells why it scrapped deal to takeover Ramunia

MISC Bhd (3816) says concerns over the falling value of assets as well as projected costs and revenue have led to it scrapping a RM3.2 billion deal to take over Ramunia Holdings Bhd.

Last month, MISC called off the deal, which would involve Ramunia buying MISC's wholly-owned unit, Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Sdn Bhd.

Ramunia then asked MISC for its reasons and the latter explained in a letter, the extracts of which were disclosed by Ramunia to Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

Among others, MISC said the fall in Ramunia's net assets per share in its audited accounts for the year to October 31 2007 and the quarter to July 31 2008 was a factor.
"In addition, our due diligence audit findings indicated that the net asset per share may further deteriorate," MISC said.

However, MISC said these should not be construed as representations of facts and it was disclosing the reasons as a gesture of goodwill. It is not legally obliged to do so, it said.

Ramunia said it will focus on strengthening the execution of existing contracts from oil majors such as Woodside Australia, Sarawak Shell Bhd and Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd.

that trade receivable number seems like a creeping problem
But how come analysts still put a recent target price @ 0.90? Ain't that misleading to small players? I'm sure they also analysed this figure.....

besides the loss in exhange rate, I believe their UK casino is not doing that well for last year as many British and neighbouring European people are either lack of money or scrimping to save as the crisis unfolds.

many recent analysis points that Genting has already reached its bottom around 3.60, so probably it has reached its lowest level as in tandem with the global crisis. Unless the crisis doesn't improve.....
