 Music School at Kuching

need some ideas and recommend.

the music school i know at kuching only few below...
anyone who even study electric guitar or other instrumental at the following music school? how their teaching? good? strongpoint? weakpoint?
welcome to share.

any other music school or private teacher recommend are welcome too.


--CMC (near one TJ there)
just went to visit, many ppl said their violin are best in kuching,
1st floor got sellling lot instrumental
piano rooms got 5-7 at 3rd floor drool.gif kinda nice the feacilities
but not sure band good or not.. their band room at 4th floor, got a drum, few guitars, emp
if not wrong, d course include violin, viola, Acoustic guitar, electric guitar, drum, piano.....what else..forgot hmm.gif


--12 tones (jalan song)
course include violin, drum, piano.....Acoustic guitar
2rd floor got 4-5 piano rooms, 1 drum room
1st floor selling instrumental such as violin and piano

--Kenwy music house (tabuan jaya)
guitar + bass room at 2 floor
3 drum rooms at 3 floor
have their school band concert at kenyalan every year
course include Acoustic guitars, electric guitar, drum, keyboard, bass

--Kenwy art and music school (Stutong)
very famous at chinese instumental course, rclxms.gif
other course such as vocal, piano..etc laugh.gif not sure...

--Lee's music (Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce, 3miles that road)
their band are good, got 3 drum rooms, 2 guitar rooms there

never went b4...dono.. heard expensive...

-- Flora music house
never went b4...dono

-- Art of music (sekama)
never went, just know they offer course like "play piano by ear"

-- Mass music (at the road from fu zhou to tabuan jaya)
never went...dono

i dont think there are any other musicians here in this forum who is based in kuching.

even for me, its been quite a while since i was back there (3+ years perhaps?).

my former bandmates are teaching in Kenwy Music in Tabuan Jaya. Lee's music depending on who is teaching you. IMH is if you want formal education, with the certs and all.

i just picked up bass last week and im currently self learning, not thinking of picking up any lessons soon... but i only know IMH and lee's are good... the others not so sure...

btw, u are wei right? im from cosworld if u remember me wink.gif

already got it last week... now practicing ownself... cos i got videos and ebooks... so i try and see how far i can get by practicing myself...

maybe next time then go to music school, now not very 'fang bian'... still want to know more abt kenwy... always heard abt them but dont really know them..

swing habit is their students band.

where can i enroll for intermediate/advance dj classes in kuching?
coz learning by self i feel like it's going to be stagnant.

Thanks for the info. Didnt know there are so many music schools based in Kuching. At least I'll know where to find musicians to perform my music pieces in future. =)

i went to the IMH one before.

they have non-certified course for guitar.
but .. the attitude very cincai one. One week got class, one week cancel sleep.gif

Lee's Music, my bro used to teach there for a while. Now focus more at the main office.

If i recall, they also have accredited courses. but i don't have the details.

IMH kinda expensive. Very experience teacher with high level skills. they are major music in their field.. so, i not surprise IMH very expensive

I'm saw their teaching, great, I would say, and they carry Rockschool syllabus, which is something I find quite expressive. The teacher I talked to, has academic qualification required, and often plays in gigs and stuffs, so I think music to them is their nature la, like how comfortable fishes are in water. Just some of my feedbacks rclxms.gif
