Hi Sifus, Gurus, and Masters of Guitars,

I seeking for any suggestions, tips, or advices on buying my first ever electric guitar. I've been playing acoustic guitar for 4~5 years already. I'm pretty good at it. My 20th birthday is coming and my sisters would like to buy me one. I'm don't know anything about electric guitars and stuff.

I looking for something better than a beginners guitar but not that high end. I like the Les Paul shape. I listen to a wide range of music genres but I like rock a lot. Example, Good Charlotte, Blink 182, Metallica, Slipknot, Linkin Park, Simple Plan, MCR, and stuff like that. I can play songs like Nothing Else Matter (Not Excellent, just Average). I was think of a guitar that I can learn to "shread". Hahaha.

Well, I don't know how much my sisters would want to pay but I think around 1.5k to 2k including an amp.

So guys, can you help me? Thank you!

Edit: I'm staying in Melaka. If possible, suggest me places to buy.
