I've recently bought biostar g31-m7 for overclocking.I've done the bsel mod on my 2140.everything seems fine,it boots at 333 mhz which is 8x333 = 2666MHz.Problem is,when i switch on my CPU-Z,the multiplier fluctuates!it will be x6 multiplier now,and changes to x8 multiplier the next second.how do i stop this from happening?besides,i check my speedfan,i have 1 part where the temperature shows a whopping 127 degrees celcius!help me!

nothing wrong with your system.
this is EIST at work. it will drop to 6x on idle and raise to 8x on load. if you wish to have 8x all the time, then just go BIOS and disable the EIST. http://techreport.com/articles.x/7998/2 http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2725 *your BIOS option may have it stated as C1E* whatever, you can play around with the EIST and C1E options and see the difference.* This post has been edited by goldfries: Jan 11 2009, 10:35 PM |
