I've recently bought biostar g31-m7 for overclocking.I've done the bsel mod on my 2140.everything seems fine,it boots at 333 mhz which is 8x333 = 2666MHz.Problem is,when i switch on my CPU-Z,the multiplier fluctuates!it will be x6 multiplier now,and changes to x8 multiplier the next second.how do i stop this from happening?besides,i check my speedfan,i have 1 part where the temperature shows a whopping 127 degrees celcius!help me!

its the Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology or EIST at work.

it automatically reduce the multiplier and voltage when the processor is idling and not doing anything.

nothing wrong with your system.

this is EIST at work. it will drop to 6x on idle and raise to 8x on load.

if you wish to have 8x all the time, then just go BIOS and disable the EIST.

*your BIOS option may have it stated as C1E* whatever, you can play around with the EIST and C1E options and see the difference.*

does the temp fluctuate or just show 127'c all the time???

bro..also make sure u turn off the C1E state..turn of EIST won't work..

the fluctuating multiplier issue has been resolved.thanks a lot.but the 127C thing is still there,and it's constantly 127C no matter how much i raise my whatever clock.

bleh, that 127c thing has been around on SpeedFan for quite a while.

try other software like HWmonitor la.

or Real Temp for each individual core temperature.

ya, speedfan always give abnormal reading, use coretemp better
