Hi Ravenz, I will suggest if there's someone sponsor KFC, can change the teriyaki chicken to something else? Let say like bihum, noodles or nuggets, sausages or something else? Well I would prefer if there's any traditional CNY food around too, so that can educate the children with it as well. Let them understand the culture and extra knowledge for them.

Anyhow, I do have a few more people can't confirm with me yet, as for food wise, we will finalize with it in a discussion or meeting.

Thanks.

Hi skysherly,

If change to something else, I would prefer something I dont have to cook as I do not have the capacity to do so. Cocktail sausage is also an option which I'm ok with. Alternative I can also bring some packet drinks. Do let me know. Thanks

Heya Shirley,

I can't confirm right now because I'm not sure if I'll be free on the 31st as I might be in my hometown.
Regarding the food contribution, I was wondering if it's okay that I pack up some fast food like KFC or something because I don't cook? laugh.gif
Or perhaps a box of Mandarin oranges?

Jaime, the kids make a card for you for the Christmas, same goes to Ka Chun and Amanda! Please meet up with me so I can pass to you!
Well, now I need only people to register themselves to confirm coming to help, then only I know what is the amount of food to prepare. The due date to confirm will be on 22 January, then after that we will have a meeting to arrange who get what and the job in charge as well. For now, I can't say how many people are coming, children there are around 20, but volunteers around I only know 4 exclude me confirm. Thus, I need to wait for the confirmation from everyone first smile.gif

I've explain why I haven't put up the amount of food you need to prepare yet. As for the homes details I guess I've put up in another thread but I will update later, now I'm trying to keep this thread clean only for the party.

Hi Vanquish!
Well, total of 20 people in the home, as for volunteers I'm not sure yet. You can discuss with me in msn for the cookies, such as which type and how many and so on. Because for now I can't really say how many to buy as not many confirm yet.
Anyhow, if you confirm can attend the party then will be good! smile.gif

Thanks!

Hi Sherly,

As per our discussion on Msn, i will be donating packet drinks. If you could roughly give me any specific brand or flavour would be great, otherwise i will go with the standard.

Further, you will need to inform me of how many cartons that you may require. (i believe one carton of packet drinks is 24 packets)

Tivya, boon.fong,

if u guys are buying drinks as well need to coordinate so that we dont over-bought or buy the same drinks otherwise the everyone will be drowning themselves with drinks sweat.gif

Sherly,

No. of people:
Other problem to resolve is how many confirmed ppl or the max expected people whom are going to attend the charity.

Delivery:
Well for my part, u can expect delivery as soon as this Sunday 18th Jan 09..

i dont speak for the rest but if possible i hope we can purchase all the things the charity needs in one go, saving everyone time and petrol?
Thats my 2 cents anyway.

Aurora, don't worry about that. I've mention the drinks that I think is better for kids, as long as not carbonated drink will be good.
Anyhow, for delivery timing you have to let me know before Sunday as Sunday I will be picking another 3 boxes of oranges from a friend who wish to donate to the kids. As I know Tivya will be attending but Boon.Fong is unable to attend, thus IF want to buy together, I may afraid not all can make it together as my schedule also quite pack for next week. Anyway, we can still arrange things to make it better smile.gif

For attendees of volunteers and number of people from the home, I've already update in the front page. I do have another few more small groups of friends might be joining, thus I can't give any confirmation for now, because they are arranging their time table for me. Anyway, I will update the front page from time to time smile.gif

Thanks and appreciate your contribution very much smile.gif

So are you going to register yourself as one of the volunteer on that day?

for the briefing meeting, i'd suggest everyone do it on msn. arrange a night or a few nights to discuss everything together. if not all can make it, then can slowly discuss with a few then come up with a decision.

things needed to be discussed are like:

- parking
- who will supply what
- anything else you can think of

so if everyone doesn't mind, pls add us up on msn. pm me for the address.

Thanks for suggestion

As for brief meeting, I'm already have three sessions with a few forumers this afternoon and yesterday night. Will have another on Monday night for dinner session. There will be a few more discussion by next week.

Things that need to discuss will only be parking and transport, job description and some extra minor thing. As for supply most of them already know what to get and what to bring. Now mostly is only waiting for confirmation from everyone. Thus no big deal for now.

Anyway, do take a look at the front page from time to time for update smile.gif

Cheers

Hey dear, I'm just doing my part, just wish to help more people around.
Don't worry about the last event, I will try to make it as each month will have one event, thus you can join for the next one. February's visit to the particular centre already confirm, I will be double confirm things before post up.
Anything will do, up to you for 2 packs of 10 kgs or 4 packs of 5 kgs. Just update me for the timing and location. Monday evening we will be having a meeting in PJ, ss2. Thus, you have to book me earlier for it.

As for medicine, I'm trying to get my doctor as known as my friend too, to help out and also may arrange a session with the kids. Anyhow, that's only on the plan and not confirm yet.

I need to go for pick up items already, for people who have enquiry, please leave me a message in my inbox, I will get back to you soon right after I'm back. If you have my mobile number, you can always ring me for more information.

Good'ay people!

Cheers!

No problem about it, please PM me for all the pick up and drop off as I may not be able to attend to everyone here.
By the way, I need to say, in the morning we have some work to do, thus will not be free in the morning. Any pick up you can let me know I can arrange for it.
Thank you

Please if there's any drop off items or normal question you can always get me thru MSN or PM. I wish to keep the thread clean just for it purpose of updates and registration of volunteers.
The CNY is around the corner, I think you won't expect me to go do pick up by Friday or Saturday nor Sunday right? Furthermore I've post up the date in thread for me to go over to the home for decoration.
The question is still back to you, once you are ready with your items, you can let me know and I will arrange for pick up.

Thank you

Would love to join this meaningful event. However I will need to make prior arrangement with my younger sis as she's going back to Aussie on that day, 145pm flight. Will definitely attend this if my parents are able to send her to the airport. Can I help to take photos on that day?

Even the old clothes are too matured to them, it can always be used for something else, why worried?

This is LYN Charity Foundation's January project, we will organize a charity party for the orphans in one of the home.
The purpose of this party is to let children to have some fun too in this festive season, as well educate them about the Chinese's culture and so on. Most important is to let them feel the love from others. We do not wish the left those needy behind and have fun alone. smile.gif

Dear all Volunteers for LYN CF's January project,

Again to thank you all of you for offering help in this project and make it work out. Our main purpose of this project is to share the joy of this festive season and educate them some Chinese culture. Of course, most important is to let them feel the love from everyone.

Tonight at 8pm we will have an online discussion regarding about this project. Below will be the agenda for tonight's discussion :

1) The Schedule of the day

11.30 am > Meet up at Mobil petrol station beside LDP Furniture mall.
12.00 pm > Depart from Mobil station to the Home.
1. 00 pm > Lunch for everyone
2 . 30 pm > Story telling by Ken and Sherly
3.00 pm > Craft work - Origami by Kenji
3.30 pm > Musical chair by Devince, Vanquish and Jean
4.00 pm > Clean up for the home

In between 12pm - 1pm, we will have another short briefing session if anyone is not clear with anything. Mean time we will arrange for lunch and set up for the things.
Right after lunch, there will be a cleaning session lead by Suppaman, Jordy and Tivya. But the last clean up will be a team work from everyone. For those volunteers whose name is not up here, don't worry, you are the facilitator for everyone and all activities. You can help out along during the activities on.
Estimation of the whole event end will be around 4.30pm.

2) Dress code of the day
If any of you have the Lowyat.Net Official T-shirt, please wear it on that day. As for those who don't have, any dress code will be no problem as long as you feel comfortable and pretty/handsome.

3) Transportation
That might will have a problem of parking, thus it will be better for car pool.
Below is a list for people who can provide transportation :
i) Adrian - 012-2726777 (Klang)
ii) Devince - 0126696785 ( Cheras/Setapak)
iii)

You may contact them to arrange for transport, for those who can provide transport you may put it up as well.

4) Contact information
Please provide the name with contact number as well as your msn so that will be easier for everyone to contact with each other.
i) sKysherly - 0192728122 - Sherlyyee@hotmail.com

5) Activities information
Activities that lead by each volunteers have come up with idea of how things going to be done, so if any of you feel like joining to help you may contact them directly. As for those who lead the activities, if any materials that you need to look for/get, you may share it out if any of the members have or can get the items.

Thank you and have a nice day!

Cheers,
sKySherly

Dear all members,

A very big thank you to all of you who attend, contribute, support, and help out to make this event successful. Thank you for putting a smile on the children' face, thank you for getting them a memorable Chinese New Year party. Seriously, thank you for everything.

The event was great, went out well and smooth even we had it earlier and end up earlier, overall the children enjoy a lot. I hope all of you enjoy yourself too. Sorry if I was unable to get into all of you individually or forget about your name, or may be mix up the name too. I'm so touched for everything you guys did, seriously it was a great job from all of you. Without you, the party won't be a good one. The honor shall goes to all of you.

I'm so glad and proud to work along with all of you, tried our best to make things out. A lot of you mention to me is the first time for you but no, for me, all of you did a great job as like professional. Your willingness to learn, to do, to contribute and the love to the children seriously is the most important and can never able to be put in word. I'm so glad to meet all the kind people like you around, I'm so proud of you too!

I'm somehow suddenly lost all my words. I was really happy and again, thank you! All the credits go to, se7en, Ian, Ken-ji, Tivya, Vanquish, Adrian, Suppaman, Michelle, Ken, Eddy and wife, Elaine, Sonic, Vincent, Jean, Dadarouch, Softly and mother, Lian Sim, Tak3shi, Brian, Alicia, Melissa, Prue's sister, Prue and boyfriend, Aurora, pdot, Gary, Boon Fong, Stormz, Fooz, db07mufan, berry_strawberry, Eric, Leo and namhong55. Sorry guys, I was recovering from quite a bad illness, my nose were bleeding twice the whole night before the event. I only managed to sleep after 6am as my housemates and I had to place ice on my bloodied nose and clean up my stains. Sigh, what a fun I had missed sad.gif

Eh kenji, I think we were supposed to meet up during Youth 09 right? Now only I know who you really are laugh.gif

Thank you Adrian, I also forgotten the items you told me. Anyhow, that ain't that important compare to the thought of helping and giving.

Suddenly have something to share while I'm doing some summary about the event. Well, this is an event that need everyone's help to get it done. No doubt a lot of you don't know each other, most are first time meeting with each other. There are people who are quiet, and also people who are noisy too. There are people's first time in participating this kind of event, but the willingness of participate is the most important in this. This is a very good first step you make in life, I'm pretty sure about it! I believe a lot of you have dedicated your first time into this event, such as first time do puppet show, first time handling children, first time guide a child, first time...... Do you know, your first time make a life long lasting memory to a child? That's the angel work. I was so touched and really happy for the entire day. I share this with some of my friends, I told them, yes LYN CF is like base on the net and some may think it's fake, but we manage to proof it to people they are wrong. We have finally gone through all the hard work and get it done perfectly. My friends are all so amaze with it. One of my best friend who just passed away yesterday left me a message, he told me that he really envy that we can have all this fun around but due to distance problem, he couldn't join me. He was impressed with all the hard work done by all of us. A word and respect from him to all of you.

What is this LYN Charity Foundation all about? To me this is to share our love, to care for people around us, and to support people who need us without counting anything in return. This is a step towards the peaceful world, a very good history to tell to our next generation a way to the great world. We show them the greatest love of all and all of you, earn the respect from me. Some of the people thought I'm working with the Home, well actually not. I just going around to make some noise around in different Home.

I'm here by sincerely, again to thank you for all your help and contribution, in helping and supporting to make this event such a wonderful and great one in our life, most important, thank you for the love. I hope to work together with all of you again, for our next project, and all the upcoming projects. Don't put a stop on this, continue bring the laughter, joy and love around and spread it out!

Thank you!!

Guys, whoever you are....you know you rocked. And I'm talking bout everyone of u who attended the charity event!! =)

The crowd were all warm and frendly people of all ages and race; the children were happy even at the slightest joke. They may be missing some people in their lives...but they are not missing out on love, now with this LYN CF care.

These children are well thought and talented even at young age. I was impressed enuff with their self-choreographed Hindi dance. I'm sure if we continue to support them with love and proper financing, they will have a chance to grow up normally like other fortunate ones.

However busy my schedule was, the feeling of being part of this charity work is simply indesribable.

I'm Ken btw~ :0

Well, I do PM for those who participate in this event for the next events and also others who sign up as LYN CF members in another thread. Well, before this we actually put this up as LYN's headline, it's sort of like a lot of people get notice from there. I can't be able to PM everyone from the forum smile.gif

Anyhow, we will be doing some promoting for this subforum to create some awareness around smile.gif
Thanks!
