Not enough voltage, some ppl who are extereme GPU ocers do a vmod, but that can cause ur warranty to void if I`m not mistaken

Not really,it is depend on your soldering skill laugh.gif
You can vmod but remember not to leave any traces and remove the vmod before send in for RMA smile.gif

Good suggestion, but if myself, I`m rather bad at soldering, so I wont be able to claim biggrin.gif

Still for teh average GPU ocer, get a decent cooler and increase ur core, mem and shader, bit by bit

hi all from melaka,

i'm also staying in melaka. recently i just bought an E5200 + Asus P5KPL-AM board, guess what, i didn't expect much, but managed to overclock to 3.38Ghz (270x12.5) all using default voltage setting. oh, i got the R0 revision of the e5200. at 3.38, the cpu temp is about 39C only using the OLD Pentium-D heatsink (there is a copper core inside).

I'm sure the old beefy P-D heatsink helped alot. With the new stock low profile (a nice marketing term Intel used rather than more correctly calling it a Wimpy/Sissy/Cheap heatsink) I can only manage slightly above 3.1GHz on the same mobo.

i will do the stability test this weekend smile.gif . i will only overclock it for video conversion. for others purpose, normal default speed is more than enough.

that's why i still keep the copper core heatsink smile.gif i know it could be a cheap but good heatsink one day. smile.gif i think my e5200 can be push higher, but i think 3.38Ghz is more than enough for most of my software applications.

Intel board is no where tune for oc actually laugh.gif
But if you persist, try BSEL mod and clockgen/setfsb smile.gif
