Pls add me to the user list - BLUE owner here.

Succumbed to buying the Tube after constant poisoning since v2 biggrin.gif
Loved this phone especially the screen - very bright and beautiful! drool.gif
Even the stereo speakers were awesome for such tiny size.
My only complaint so far - I wished the camera's indoor shots were better...sometimes, the white balance and the noise can be a letdown. But outdoor shots were good though - no complaints there.

And all you guys are amazing! I find it so hard to keep up with this thread. smile.gif
Kudos to panasonic88 and those regular posters who have to work overtime to keep the poison running! notworthy.gif

I am not able to sent MMS.

When sending the mms, it show "unable to send msg"
In detail show " Packet data: Connection not allow"

Any advise?

cheers

Maybe you can check Menu - Settings - Connectivity - Admin. settings - APN Control and see if Connection Restrictions are active/inactive. If active, just deactivate it. Hope that helps. smile.gif

yeah..but seriously i duno wats d hype about..until v4 redi..haha.. d screen esp seems plastic..unlike iphone or omnia screen, which seems more harder and sturdy.. and d color on d screen seems washed out, dull at best.. dun u tink so? smile.gif
*
Yup, the screen is plasticky but I still find the colours really sharp and outstanding...colors are definitely brighter and bolder compared to the omnia bcos of its 16 million colours and higher resolution (640 x 360). As for the iPhone which I'm also using as my 2nd phone, the iPhone screen certainly has better sunlight legibility and the 5800's screen loses out here. Just my 2 cents.

haha dat answer took me by surprise..LOL.. i play wit my frens iphone lar, so i tot if i buy dis fone can atleast feel d touchscreen tech..biggrin.gif high expectations = super responsive screen. but d price is a bargain nevertheless:)
*
Yes, Nokia was certainly aiming for a share of the iPhone market...but it knows it cannot possibly match iPhone's multi-touch technology and responsiveness so soon. Nonetheless, Nokia's first effort is really commendable and at such prices, we are definitely getting value for money.

i used iphone before and yes it has very nice screen and overall feel but i think it is unfair to say that 5800's screen is dull. probably it takes somebody who uses it everyday to say to you that it's screen is super duper nice given the affordable price tag. it bursts with thousands of colors, i always squeal with glee whenever i tap tap it to wake it up  blush.gif

sorry, tube poison alive and throbbing in every cell of my body  wub.gif
*
Yup, I fully agree with your view. Generally the first thing that attracts me to a phone is its screen. And there was no way I was gonna let the Tube pass me by with its Nokia 16 million colours and 640 x 360 screen. I really love the screen of the Tube...and that's coming from an iPhone fan like me. smile.gif

bros n sis.. may i ask u guys one thing.. i;m planning to get this phone but i'm wondering how's the e-mail capabilities of the phone? is it similar as previous nokia models' email or does it have better interface like the iphone's email?

thanks!
*
The iPhone has a better email interface in the sense that HTML emails are displayed properly. The Tube only loads in plain text format.

which is better to limit the number of bytes transfered =)

Haha...yes, u are right. Didn't think of that. smile.gif
But I guess if one really wants to check and read emails, an s60 device probably not as good as WinMo6 or iPhone

Good afternoon to you all biggrin.gif tube or non-tubian tongue.gif

I am surprise that the 5800 browser allow to play youtube online, I remember that IPhone not allow to play youtube from safari but allow on youtube application.. So this make 5800 gain some advantage from IPhone

Correct me if wrong.
*
Yup, in Safari, if you click on a youtube link it will not play as Safari doesn't support Flash. That's why the iPhone has a separate Youtube app.
But honestly the Youtube app in the iPhone is really good...I wished the Tube would also have a separate Youtube app.

hmm.gif I just discovered that when I removed the screen protector covering the camera lens, my indoor shots under fluorescent lighting suddenly improved drastically...from something which totally cannot pakai to something which is at least boleh tahan.
Indoor pictures exhibit less noise (but still noisy) and colors more accurate....and all these just by removing the camera screen protector.
I just can't believe that a screen protector can cause so much damage to the camera's image quality. blink.gif

*
If you don not want to remove the screen protector covering the camera lens, you can also opt to remove the back cover and try taking indoor shots with the back cover removed. Then compare with the same shot taken with the back cover and screen protector on.
In my case it made a huge difference.

yup, same here....even moderate usage gives me only 24-36 hrs battery life. So everyday kena charge...iPhone's battery life also equally bad.

I'm still a noobie to this nokia maps as I've been using garmin mobile xt previously. I hope you can clear my confusion...let's say I dun want to purchase the license after 7 days. The only thing that'll be missing is the voice navigation, right? Everything else including routing will still remain, right?

BAD REVIEWS from Gsmarena.com.

Main disadvantages:

    * Limited 3rd party software availability
    * UI is still immature with somewhat dodgy user experience
    * Touchscreen sensitivity not the best in the class
    * No smart dialing
    * Poor image quality and no GPS geotagging
    * No voice-guided navigation license
    * No office document editing out-of-the-box
    * Doesn't charge off microUSB
http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_5800_xpressm...-review-308.php
*
The review was quite fair and i agree with most of the points.
I especially agree with the reviewer's conclusion that it is still worth buying despite all those disadvantages.
Nokia knows exactly what they are doing and they are obviously trying to push this product to the masses and get all their feedback so that it can be incorporated in their upcoming N97. Hopefully, when the N97 releases, Nokia will also release a major software update for the 5800.

By the way, I'm also using blue zitron which I bought at the Gardens Nokia and so far no problems. biggrin.gif

Just tried out nokia maps. It doesn't prompt me which connection ti use when i allow it to go online. So does it uses 3g network or my wireless network ?
If 3g i kena already, downloaded 1.5mb of data.
*
If you were already connected to a wifi network before you launched nokia maps, then possibly it'll be wifi.
But if you were not, then..... shocking.gif
