Hey ppl,

So is anybody having any problems with their 5800 other than the earpiece volume matter?

Checked out the price at Pyramid recently. They're selling the Avaxx set for RM1320. Bundled with the 8gb card but forgot to ask about the 1000 free songs. Lol.

Then I asked the Nokia shop about the earpiece prob and he said the units selling now are alright. Nokia is selling it for RM1499 tho.

So I'm wondering whether to get the RM1320 and risk having the earpiece problem because it might be from the first batch, or just get the RM1499.

If you are willing to send it to the service centre, then get the cheaper priced one. Thats what i'd do. No guarantees that the ones Nokia has are problem free anyway. Salesmen can promise you the sky when they are trying to close a deal. In the end, if any issues arise, you would still have to send it in to Nokia Care. Not like you'd get royal treatment cuz you paid a premium anyway..

True. So are there any other issues so far? Or is everyone happy with their phones? laugh.gif

Yeah.. I'm thinking of getting one but I'd prefer not to have it opened. Don't really like having dust inside the cover. Haha

Did U own 1?
Is not as bad as U think.
Most user I think still not familiar with symbian OS...furthermore it is a spankin new OS...even myself long timer user of symbian also need to get use to it.

Give some time.Symbian version5 will excel....

Compare to older OS, V5 is more "intelligent". I started to like the default browser compare to older version or even operamini. there is 1 shortcut that list out few "buttons/command" that normal use when we browser.

Also, the reduced alphabet when U search address book is 1 damn smart way to search whole list of names ( I got around 600+ contacts)

The wifi search is also intelligent compare to older version. It will select wifi first, if not available it will start auto switch to mobile data connection.

Not to mention the light sensor. blank when U answering call...clever bit.

When the OS it mature, U will see ton of 3rd party software. It just like a "mini PC" in yr hand...music player, video player, web browsing, game and many more.

Since I got 5800, my N800 (internet tablet) had been collecting dust..LOL

By problematic, I meant that many forumers have been experiencing hardware problems other than the earpiece volume.

And no I do not have one, yet.. Will probably wait if I can until better units are produced
