I'm planning to get the Dahon Dash P18, but as I read the reviews, found that the 2013 model has some problems such as brakes and the RD & FD. Is this still worth to buy? If I am to upgrade this bike, where should I go to and whether it's worth it to upgrade?
Just my luck, I went to Bicycle Shop to find it closed. Called Johnny and it seems that they will be closed throughout the weekends. Oh well, make a dash to Rodalink and found the 2013 Dahon Dash P18, it's heavier than the previous model. There's another Dahon Mu P24 in the shop too, this comes with 24 speeds and a SRAM system with Avid brakes. Price wise there's not much difference but Mu P24 is about 1kg lighter. Which one is better?
if u want TERN, u can drop by Setia Avenue (5 minutes from setia city mall Setia Alam)..... new branch opening there, this SUNDAY u might get bargain display unit up to 30%.
just went there yesterday.....
Are you referring to Van's Urban Bikes? Any goodies there?
hi, where can I get Mu P27 at RM2,250? Is this price reasonable ? I heard the break is giving some problem?
I think you can check with Rodalink. They quoted me around that price before. However I'm not sure about the problem with this bike but knowing that it has an internal hub, upgrading the wheels will be difficult.
thx for the info. with the SRAM 3 x 9 SPEED DUALDRIVE II, does it allow to change gear when stationary? is it good to have the internal hub? (assuming I don't upgrade my bike in future) thx...
The SRAM 3 x 9 speed will be sufficient for normal riding and touring, that's what the bike is built for. You can't change gear when stationary. The internal hub will save some space for a foldie but it's also heavier. Assuming that you don't upgrade for now, it should be fine. Just enjoy the ride, change to better parts if there are any broken parts. More worth it this way.
thx for your quick reply. comparing Mu P27 and vector P9, which is good?
Mu P27 is a touring bike, long distance, some hill climb and heavier. Hence, the weight is heavier and the 27 speed gears.
Vector P9 is more for speed. It follows the same frame design of the Vector series. It's also lighter. Should be able to add a FD to make it into a 18 speed speed bike.
A quick one guys, the Cranks. Does it really matter than there is no second ring? I mean, I notice a lot of foldies, they come with a single big crank ring. And some with duals. A bike without a second ring, without an FD, in future, if there was any need to upgrade, we'd have to find someways to fix the FD on to the frame. IF it was... able to.
A second ring on the crank will double up the speed at the cassette. If there's room to upgrade a FD and second ring, then you can opt to do so. Should do some research on the bike frame first. You can check out http://handsonbike.blogspot.com/2013/03/gu...n-tern.html?m=1 for more upgrading info. Hope that this helps.
