Hi guys I used to cycle Lerun mounti 26" & that was when I was a teenager. Now mid age crisis wanna cycle again and I am interested in folding bike. Is polygon good enough or dr hon better? If I could spend within 1k or 2 k. The past 2 days, I have visited Sew Leong in Dengkil and USJcycles. Dengkiln pices are more competitive. What abt Melaka prices, anyone think can be cheaper? Say dr hon boardwalk 8 speed for 1180? THe guy at sew Leong said even polygon said recomendable and good already. Then furthest I had done was 13km per ride and Rtn trip makes 26km. I also worry if seller change with cheaper parts and I don't notice then rugi la

QUOTE(etigge @ Jun 23 2013, 07:55 AM) Current models still OK. They won't change the components and furthermore, 1K to 2K is entry level bikes so there's no worries there. Sew Leong prices are better than USJ cycle's, I don't think you can get any cheaper than those quoted by Sew Leong. I will go for the Boardwalk as they specialized in folding bikes rather than Polygon who are more of a all rounder bicycle manufacturer. With a budget of up to 2K, why don't you consider the Tern Link D8 or the Dahon Speed P8 or the Dahon MU P8. These are strong sturdy bikes with very good folding mechanism. The latter 2 Dahons are the older model Dahons which are already proven itself for reliability. Try hunt for them. Thank you, etiggue. After following the forum, I have been hoping to hear from you. Appreciate your review especially from technical perspective. With the haze worsening now, I have more time to scout around if I don't die from the harmful air. I guess I am pretty much towards Dahon. If budget then Boardwalk . If I get extra to spend on, then Speed/MU P8

QUOTE(etigge @ Jun 23 2013, 06:01 PM) From the pictures, it looks the same as the Kalaq except for a better seat, seat post and the better groupset. The Dahon MU is also the same design. http://www.bicyclebuysell.com/view_item.php?id=166857I was told apple to apple vs Dahon but I found that it is manufactured in Taiwan Kalaq is much cheaper

QUOTE(NasiLemakMan @ Jun 4 2013, 09:33 PM) I cycled to work in KL. 5 km each way. It's awesome! You just have to be smart. I'll avoid major roads where cars go above 60 km/h. Closest to an accident was when a pedestrian crosses without using the zebra crossings. He came out of nowhere between stopped cars and didn't look both ways to cross. On the contrary, I believe cycling lanes in KL if made are more dangerous. Just like what happens to motorcycle lanes. Talk about accident on bike, my only serious 1 in history which had me stayed in the hospital was caused by pedestrians too. School girls walking against my direction with straps hanging out from school bag caught my handle.... Next thing I know blackout This post has been edited by mellem: Jun 23 2013, 11:29 PM

QUOTE(etigge @ Jun 24 2013, 07:11 AM) It's a good bike actually. Canadian company. I heard can be bought for less than 1K nowadays. It's good but can't sell. Good frame, good Shimano Acera 8 speed components, Tektro brakes, double walled rims but not popular. Maybe because of the price. For that price at that time, riders rather go for the more popular and famous Dahon and also Dahon's better handlepost. BUt if it is less than 1K, it's a good buy. With the welding so prominent also considered good frame? My old Lerun Mounti lagi neat joints Please enlighten me This post has been edited by mellem: Jun 24 2013, 11:10 PM

QUOTE(etigge @ Jun 25 2013, 08:11 AM) Welding joints like this are characteristics of aluminium. You see all aluminium bikes are welded this way. Those smooth weld are steel bikes. Even a 20K Ellsworth mountain bike also have welds like that. Newbie in Al frame. Thanks sifu. I have short-listed the following but not yet test ride any of them. Not all shops allow that. 1. Louis Garneau LGS Pop 8 speed 2. Dr. Hon Boardwalk D8 3. Xds AFB 320 (attractive 16 speed and light) 4. Mosso 20-F1 (attractive 9 speed and light) 5. Dahon Speed P8 6. Dahon MU P8 Haze like that wanna go to shop also discouraged. How to test ride la? Cheapest here is item no. 1 but will I regret without testing it?

Woohoo! The blue sky and white clouds are back. Just in time as I welcome my LG tmr. However, I wish I can get my hands on the Kenda Kwest 20" x 1.50" (406) in beige/light brown like the following? In Malaysia, we only get which is dull combination of colours but makes dirt less visible on it This post has been edited by mellem: Jun 27 2013, 03:26 PM

I find Proride Bandar Puteri Puchong gives rather attractive prices. The boss, Leslie Chan is friendly too. Wished we have had the time and convenience to join his family riding in Putrajaya last Sunday.

QUOTE(d1rTyd6n @ Aug 6 2013, 04:56 PM) Nice... RM850 is a good price! Which shop? Pro Ride in Bdr Puteri Puchong display price alone cheaper than Melaka FOC bottle cage. See Leslie. Sin Bee Hee at Jalan Ong Kim Wee if you are in Melaka We bought a dark blue and a white. Good enough for leisure. For seat, you either change to Selle Royal gel saddle or get yourself cycling pants Love riding on Putrajaya biking lanes. Not bumpy at all. This post has been edited by mellem: Aug 13 2013, 12:50 PM
