QUOTE(d1rTyd6n @ Aug 6 2013, 02:56 PM) This one also I went with my fren to purchase. In fact both of them are satisfied with LGS and both of them bought it. One dark blue and another white. RM850 foc bottle carrier and blinker. This bike came preinstalled with bell. 8 speed and a nice simple bike. Using Shimano Atlus gear. Better than Raleigh Ugo as Ugo only have 7 speed. Other than that, most of the accessories are bout the same with Raleigh Ugo. Btw, the only con is the seat. Raleigh Ugo seat more comfortable than LGS. Btw, I am riding Raleigh Ugo hence I am able to compare with it. |

Still undecided which second foldie to get. My first foldie is Raleigh Ugo. I wan something more faster and lighter. Smoother ride and comfort too. Jave Fit looks good but Tern and Dahon with rm1.5k can only get basic setup as same with Raleigh Ugo. Any other better option bike. Really love Tern but can only get C7 which component is the about the same with Raleigh.
Btw how much is Tern Link D8 cost? Anyway place can get cheaper price! van urban perhaps? This post has been edited by adriankhoo153: Aug 7 2013, 07:18 PM |

QUOTE(etigge @ Aug 7 2013, 11:59 PM) Tern are good bikes I am the guy who like to modified bike. So do u think Speed P8 is good? With the C7, you can easily upgrade to 9 speed Shimano RDs and shifters and cassette. Van's is not the cheapest place you can get the Terns, that I can bet with you. Shop around! |

Sam,
Very nice indeed for link P9. In fact I tested P9 and found it superb. Just that rm2.8k is over killing. My initial budget is rm1.5k. If I couldn't find 2011 Speed 8 perharps I should just get Tern D8. Where and how much is the cheapest D8 available? Is GW, Rodalink or Van Urban a good place to get Terns? |

QUOTE(etigge @ Aug 8 2013, 05:25 PM) The new Dr.Hon Speed P8 has it's specs changed. Schwalbe Big Apples are not the original tires now, the brake levers are plastic (both the levers and the v-brakes needs to be changed!). the seat post pump is not given now, the shifters are not SRAM anymore but the cheap looking green colored Dahon shifter, there's no rear carrier, the seats are not Biologics anymore. Other than that, it's the same That much changes???!! Very bad indeed! Still can find speed 8 2011 anywhere? |

I tried to source for Dahon Speed 8 and seems that all new model. Component are really bad. Not like those 2011 model anymore. Their gear all paste with Dahon sticker. Yucks!
So I think I will not consider any Dahon for now. Anyway, between this two Tern, which one will u go for? Tern C7 or Tern D8. Is it worth the extra RM500 for the D8 with extra 1 speed cand trolley rack joint? Other than that, I think the spec is pretty much standard as in C7. |

QUOTE(budgee @ Aug 12 2013, 04:50 PM) You buying a second bike to ride or to replace the Raleigh Ugo? How is the is the ride quality of the raleigh? I feel a bit draggy and heavy. Can feel the rolling resistant is there. Not sure if changing to Scwable BA or Durano may helps. Actually I am buying another one for my wife. Hence I can ride Tern when I am alone. |

QUOTE(etigge @ Aug 13 2013, 04:52 PM) I am thinking of getting a Tern Link C7 and transfer all my components from my Dahon Eco C7 to the new Tern. Meaning the old Dahon is just the frame, fork and handlepost while everything else is new from the Tern Link. You think anyone will want to buy off the Dahon Eco C7? Off course I will assemble the bike and tune it. Pm me the price and gambor.. |

I found that when uphill group ride with mtb, we can overtake them easily. Is it because our wheel is small hence we accelerate faster? On flat road, we do not easily lose to mtb too. But if roadbike, then we are slow either uphill or flat rd.

QUOTE(budgee @ Aug 14 2013, 11:33 PM) I am quite pleased with a signboard that says "Kuala Lumpur By Cycle" Is that a Verge P18? and the dedicated pathway that has been sculptured to allow smooth rolling from pathway to roads and back to pathway, makes for a good enjoyable ride around the area. This is the road going down towards Dataran Merdeka... ![]() Another sign of development around the city to make it friendly to 2 wheels. I saw one more near Lebuh Ampang where there is a clock tower, now with a colorful dancing water fountain. |

Guys, I am having stock Kenda 20x1.75. Let say I change to Scwhable Big Apple which is 20x2.0 is obvouisly more heavier, will my ride get slower? If yes but why?
Cause I thought BA have much lower rolling resistant than stock Kenda tyre. If the rolling resistant is lower, wont the speed improve as well? Yes, i know that with BA which is balloon tyre i get more comfortable ride. So my question is, changing from stock Kenda to BA will it increase or decrease the speed? |
