Hi all,
I'm a premium user, and have been for a couple of years. I use Flashget as my primary download manager, with max 8 files simultaneous downloads. I am still on the 1M package, and on good days, I get download speeds between 150 - 180KB/s.
Until recently, when I have 8 files being downloaded simultaneously, flashget would more or less evenly distribute the speeds between the 8 files, say 20 - 30KB/s per file.
Since February however, rapidshare files are very unevenly distributed. A typical 8 file simultaneous download would have one file at 105KB/s, and the rest with 10 or some SINGLE digit KB/s. Worse of all, when the file with the fast speed is completed, flashget does not detect, and the rest of the files are still being downloaded at very slow speeds. And this happens only with Rapidshare files, as megaupload files are pretty evenly distributed.
Anyone else with this problem?
Also, flashget doesn't like megashares....and I use IDM for that.
For IDM users, is everyone using the registered version? I am still pondering whether I should pay for it, as the unregistered one has some limitations
Please advise!! Thanks in advance

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Mar 19 2009, 01:46 PM) i think u should.....i love IDM...best of best download manager i think alot of ppl downloading rapidshare also using IDM as well the newer version can limit speed...even nicer Yes, I find that IDM works quite well, and I've just learned that what I was trying to explain was that Flashget's so called dynamic file segmentation doesn't work very well....i must try IDM with multiple files on rapidshare. Thanks for your PM!

QUOTE(keretapir @ Mar 19 2009, 04:18 PM) or maybe on which server u use to get the files perhaps? i suggest u check from which server u can get those amazing speeds, and always aim for that particular servers when queuing the download... IDM can check the links for availability as well as checking which RS server to download..Flashget never used b4..so no idea if same feature available.. AM using IDM now, how do I check which server? Thanks!

QUOTE(studwo @ Mar 19 2009, 05:29 PM) i wonder how many people in here .. still using 10gb capped premium ..? I suppose those who had one-yr subscriptions prior to the "downsizing". Just started using megashares.
