also in future planning few modification on perfomance and cosmetics like extractor - LCP - Muffler - Camshaft - Rims also looking for way to mod the air filter, should i use open pod or drop in? a forummer told me just use the ori box and change the high flow air filter only, any idea which filter? and price?

also really looking for perfomance increase, as usual, auto tranny not enough power, luckily still using 15" stock gen 2 rims, planning to change to 16" rims, so need to increase perfomance a little bit,
thinking to change air filter, few ppl say it could increase car performance, but not sure for waja auto to change to which one, open pod or drop in? got forrumer said change to high flow air filter enough already, got idea on which brand?
thanks guys

QUOTE(sphiroth @ Jan 8 2009, 01:22 PM) Upgrade exhaust and air filter 1st as I finds it the most value for money upgrade ic, by the way, for air filter, what do you recommend? just change the filter to high flow filter or change to drop in? if drop in, what brand and usually how much it cost, also, i have a problem with my aircon, if i of the aircon and let the blower run, the smell is terrible, smell like something dead inside the tube, but if i switch on the aircon, no more bad/faul smell

QUOTE(mao2 @ Jan 8 2009, 02:38 PM) air filter for me.. i recommend drop-in.. coz its quite cheap and don't need to change the whole set of filter.. brand either K&N or UTR.. as i know UTR is selling cheap now.. K&N is good coz off 99% filtration due to its mesh being oil.. but cleaning u hav to buy a set of cleaning kit.. UTR metal-flow is 97% filtration but can just wash using water no need cleaning kit.. both good.. i'm using UTR btw.. easy cleaning and cheap also ur FC remains the same.. but if u want abit more power.. go for open-pod air filter.. it just that.. what i heard that FC abit kuat plus u need to do heat shield coz u only want the cool air to go in not the hot air as there are alot of other components that generates heat under ur hood.. lots of brand for open pod that is good.. K&N is one off em'.. i think ur air-cond filter need to check.. coz i got the same problem b4 when open the blower smells like and old house.. service my air-cond and after that its ok.. correct me if i'm wrong.. hehe ic, i didnt know how drop in air filter look like, the way you describe it its just the filter, no need to change any casing or rampipe or anything right? so no need to change anything, just the filter, thats great, also, the UTR means ultra racing or what? because going to accessories shop this weekend in penang to mod cars, how much the price? hope UTR cheaper than K&N,

QUOTE(sphiroth @ Jan 12 2009, 11:38 AM) It maybe good to insulate the heat from entering the engine bay but remember, the heat is trapped in the extractor and probably cause it to crack. Better do CAI to ensure the engine get cools air. ic, in that case, i think its better to mod your hood to make it higher at one end, so that the heat (waja create lots of heat) to exit better from engine bay. is it ok? i dont know why i'm so concern about heat, expecially to my car and my computer, since i had problem previously with over heating cars (the radioator hose explode) and burn pc (literally burn pc, lol) This post has been edited by blackmachine: Jan 12 2009, 12:32 PM

QUOTE(zenwarlord @ Jan 12 2009, 03:56 PM) by doing that is not only cooling off the gb, it will prevent the gb from failure. i have one issue, everytime the car move from stationary, if i press the throtlle harder so that the tachometer goes above 50kph, the gear change is smooth, but if the tachometer below 50kph, the gear change is like jerking or the timing very high before the gear changing, then when the gear change its like jerking badly to the car, any idea what happen?

QUOTE(zenwarlord @ Jan 12 2009, 04:03 PM) have u changed your ATF fluid? Does that happen when the engine is cold or in working temperature? the ATF Fluid already change last year (by the way, how many kilometer need to change? maybe should change to new one). just after change also same feeling. when the engine is cold, the timing only very high and jerking. when the engine is hot/working temperature, the timing not very high and still jerking. but if i press the accelerator harder from stand still to more than 50kph, the gear changing very smooth. i cant cruise below 50kph, the gear changing very bad

QUOTE(zenwarlord @ Jan 12 2009, 04:43 PM) if u r frequently floored your pedal then 20,000km is a good timing to replace your ATF. If not then still ok to run 30,000km~40,000km. If your gear engagement is not smooth, then get it tuned by using PDT. Jerking during 1st gear to 2nd for 4G18 is a known issue. thinking to change the ATF Fluid, any brand recommend? also if got price also very helpfull, have been a year,
