anyone have any idea on cleaning waja(actually all cars)'s exterior window screen? coz the terrible dirt cannot remove by strong shampoo... i heard chemical polish... anyone know where got cheap price on polish? price below RM 100?
*
have u tried rain-x

it removes grimes, tar, even hardened bugs easily

use it excessively on tough stains. but be careful not to let it get to your paintwork.

Would like to repeat my questions.
1) Is there any CPS face-lit conversion kit available in the market ?
2) There's "tok tok tok" sound coming from the lower right bumper there after having the car tow to workshop. Should it be bushing ?
3) Is half pearl white colour easy to maintain ?

Thank you.
*
the aftermarket from proton is available, but very expensive. if u can find any oem parts, please tell

QUOTE(eau-rouge @ Jun 18 2009, 09:26 AM)
any reviews on the waja 1.8?
planning to buy this model
anything to look out for?
thanks
*
believe us, u dun want that engine

the renault engine is not suited for our climate, and is bloody expensive to maintain. plus, proton people dunno how to repair the engine

best bet is to have the car sent to tan chong ekspres auto service - nissan and renault dealer

the only good thing about the car is the drive-by-wire technology, cruise control, leather upholstery, abs, ebd, airbag

You're looking for those conversion kit also ?  drool.gif
I saw someone selling original CPS headlamp with HID for 1.6k. Damn pricey.  doh.gif
You did your headlamp DIY yet ?
*
yeah... i'm looking forward to update the car looks on the cheap. wanna do the leather seats, the new cps 5-button, the cps hood and bumper, smoked headlamps and lastly the m5 style led rear lights...

now, only managed to get new pesona wheels, sprayed midnight silver (which i think looks the best among all oem proton wheels) to replae my bent wheels

the smoked lamps project pun belom setat. need to know whether i can use orindary hairdryer to melt the glue rather than a heatgun

QUOTE(thefryingfox @ Jun 19 2009, 06:06 PM)
today i asked  my friend salesman from proton...i ask him if i trade my car how much i need ot take out cps version of waja

then he mention proton currently offering 3100 for waja 05 auto

so if i wnat to take out waja cps, i need to plus rm 160 only.

man it sounds like a sweet deal that im thinking off right now. is it such a wise move. i have not sat in a waja cps before. so i jus want to know from owners....is it very much better than the normal waja i have which is 05
*
i can't understand why people wanna change their old waja to the new waja?

man... first, u gotta know. the car is basically the same. just a new engine, and additional bits, which is no stellar performance nor quality

second, if rm160 per month x 12 x 9 years = ???

with the extra money, better wait for the waja replacement.

remember, the waja is a 9 year-old model already...

QUOTE(yngwie @ Jun 27 2009, 01:01 PM)
am currently not in town but my sister is complaining that the waja's temperature gauge will be idle in 0 during the cold start(early morning or in the evening when the car is parked for a long time).
it will slowly move to normal temperature after a few minutes of driving. by right, is should straight away moved
up, am i right?
the problem occured after i ask her to go for an ATF change(which is not related)

do you guys think ICU reset will be able to solve the problem?

thank you.
*
QUOTE(zenwarlord @ Jun 27 2009, 02:51 PM)
it's not thermometer as it does not always start from 0 degree. The gauge is showing your engine operating temperature.

*
true. the temp gauge only measure water temp from 60C (lowest) to 120C (red line). the normal being somewhere in the middle, that is 90C. Or is it 70C. correct me if i'm wrong

ini wheels very low ya lor... the spokes are too slim and the wheels got bent even if u go through a very small pothole

i repaired my wheels twice, but when i end up banging 3 out of 4 wheels, i ditched them at rm 150 (with 60% tyres) and get myself a brand spanking new set of persona OEM wheels for RM 350 and new rubbers. solves all my problem. the wheels feel more "solid" oso. can really feel the difference during cornering - or maybe it's just me... biggrin.gif

whoa, how come you got it at such a good price?new summore.. and with tyre...
*
the price is just for the wheels. my tyres are due for change anyway, so i spent another 700 or so for a set of new tyres. my regret is getting the 55 series tyres. should have gone for the more comfortable series 60.

but s55 looks nicer though... biggrin.gif

brothers! i am proud to announce my fuel economy at the moment; RM 60.88 gave me 380km. That's like 16 sen / km! well 40% on highway la. but still...  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

can i expect an even better fuel economy after my first 1,000km servicing?  drool.gif
*
i can get around 500km with the same amount of fuel with auto (recently came back from traveling)... but that's highway driving lar...

pain in the ass also cos u have to maintain 90-100km/h speed and 2,700 - 2,800 rpm only. the road is so straight and tempting that once in a while i rev up to 160km/h... biggrin.gif

the waja manual says every 10k. works fine for me for the past 4 years. semi synthethic. just don't ignore the ATF (if u are on automatic).

Just got my waja cps last thursday. I went to ipoh on saturday and back to KL in the evening. i used the autocruise all the while on the highway. works fine, no problem  biggrin.gif

QUOTE(zenwarlord @ Jul 21 2009, 10:41 AM)
just pay extra caution when u using autocruise.

*
especially during rainy days. avoid them if u can. when the tyres aquaplane, the cruise sensor will think that the car has lost speed, and will rev up. this will cause major accidents

You have to consider how the previous owner take care of the car. A friend of mine using it at caused him headache (sometimes) when the sensor (there's a lot of them compared to 4G18) goes nuts. Most workshop unable to diagnose it and replacing the cost a bomb.
*
drive-by-wire technology gone nuts...

the 1.8 is very technologically advanced for a malaysian car during that time. unfortunately, they were half-baked efforts

yup, have sent for servicing. have even changed to toyota oil when the original one wasn't showing improvement. i'm just afraid now that my gear's giving way, and would die on me soon...
*
check the solenoid valves. i had to replace 4 (D, 3, 2 L) out of 5 (R, D, 3, 2, L) valves as they were faulty early this year.

cost about RM 180+ each, exclusive of installation and new ATF

Today I want to change my atf fluid and its cost RM70 (toyota ATF 4Liter)... Then the shop owner told me that waja need nearly 5Liter ATF and Toyota ATF don't sell 1Liter...
Is it true that our waja need more than 4 Liter for ATF?

guys

i'm itchy to replace my waja rear lamps with those m5 style ones

but i saw many variations - smoked, non smoked, eagle, all-red, some-red, all smoked, some smoked, etc

prices vary from 350 to a staggering rm 600

i'm confused. i want a red one, with clear plastic on the signal lamps. anyone selling this in the forum?
