Hi guys, I just got my car (mitsu 2004), and very happy with the car, except for the power window. vmad.gif I try and troubleshoot myself, reverse engineered the power window module, I manage to figure out the pin-connection, and seems to be in good condition, but when I plug-in, it fail to function. I'm going to investigate this down to the bottom and reveal the bad engineering of proton. whistling.gif

Anyway, that problem aside, there is another thing troubling me, the power steering. Whenever I turned the steering fast, i.e. during parking, I can hear "fluuuhhhss" kind of sound, I think it's the power steering hydraulic flowing through some restricter. FYI, the power steering work just fine. Should I be concerned about? Is that normal, or sign of breakdown?

What do you mean by metal type? You mean the switch is metal? How much would it cost? This one is the driver side power window, i think is quite expensive. I got mine from the previous owner when I bought it. It's plastic. I think the problem is with the circuit board, couldn't be the contact.

Yup, the sound from power steering is quite obvious, with fast half-turn, can hear the sound already.

Last nite just back from Kuantan, sprint my Waja all the way, then overtake a Perdana. Then that Perdana accelerate and back at my rear car. Still sprint my car and go to left lane until reach 190km/h. That perdana still can't overtake even i on left lane..hehehe..

Yup, that's the one. Funny thing is, when I test the pin-out of the this unit, it seems to be in good condition. Can get around RM90+? I heard the main power window module cost around RM200+... unsure.gif Where you buy that? If RM90+ I might just buy it. But still, I want to open up the current unit and see for myself.

hi,just now i try to diy installed the ground cable on my waja 4g18p,before doing that i remove my battery terminal (-) first, then after done,i reinstall backĀ  the battery terminal (-),but when i start my car and let it idling,it seems like no power at all and rpm drop lastly engine die...what the problem a?

planning to swap my ori rear lamp with those using m5 style rear lamp..if got please sms me 0179588245,thx..

my mechanic told me that waja (4g18p) has 1 never can be solved defect, the ecu DO NOT has back up memory if power lost occur (eg. battery drained out) unlike other cars which have back up memory. so wht u need to do is to get to nearest authorised proton SC and ask them to reset your ecu and everything will get back to normal. about the grounding cable, it made different to my waja driving experience, only if you install voltage stabilizer as well.

been driving 4g18 AT (6 years old already), i usually get around 350km for rm50. but if dont drive rough, i can reach 400km with dat amount of money. dat was w/o any mod and petrol was rm1.92/L. if install VS n grounding cable, sure can get more mileage! *jz installed them*

After 7 years, finally settled my Waja car loan, it is a 1.6 AT 4G18P Waja anyway.

I think somewhere the absorbers are going to die soon, noise "nyek nyek nyek", changed once at 65,000KM, now is 103,500KM.

Any experienced sifu here can share how to mod the car to have more comfort driving experience? I don't drive fast, but just wish to improve the handling. Things like recommended tyres, brake pad, absorbers, voltage stabilizer, grounding cable, filter, strut bar, etc...

Is my first car, so now got a bit money to learn how to mod.

Take out batter also will reset the ECU lah

Don't have to go to SC, just drive the car around and it will recalibrate by itself. smile.gif

you just take out the old battery and change to new battery as usual bro?or start the engine first and while the engine is running you take out the battery and then install the new battery?

When you installed the new battery was your car idling unstable?

btw which year car you drive bro?

Mine, battery died till have to change new battery(alternator kong back then) The proper way would be to install a new battery while connecting it to a live battery...so that the car's alarm wouldn't be triggered(not important)

Im using 2001 waja...8 years already...havent been to proton sc to do ECU recalibration. After driving awhile, it will be back to normal.

Have you ever realised that after driving for a constant speed on highway, then once exit after highway, the car tends to feel sluggish? it is because the ECU has been recalibrated to constant speed driving.
