Iphone 3G 16G unlock version from Italy
Location: Kajang/Cyberjaya
Speed: always around 1-80kbps,sometimes (very rare and short period) go up to 800kbps

just subscript to Celcom 3G 98package,
i use wget to retrieve files from local website,
found that the data service from celcom not really good.

Anyone have a better result ?

Today i test beside kedia celcom(above got radio towel), can get around 900kbps,
but problem is once go beyond 15meter, the speed drop to 500kbps,
and 30meter it drop to 200,
i believe HSDPA is only for those people who is use the service 25 meter beside the towel.

currently not sure is that the problem with the phone or what, but it seem nothing i can do with it.
latency test best result is 200ms. (beside Celcom branch)

Maxis is better than celcom in Bkt Jelutong area... Now regret switch to celcom data package. 3G only works for a few minutes...& then can only get gprs

I think can conclude that while signal strength is ok, performance drops when too many users load a node.

For wifi, not sure whether that speed is reading PenangFon or Airport extreme wifi (N). 10mbps is hell lot fast but am not seeing that in normal surfing. I think in Pg, the speedtest server is PenangFon (in KL is metro something) and is connected by fibre - hence the incredible speeds!

b.regards

ps. how do you add a table to a post?

there are 2 type maxis internet

1. maxis postpaid - data unlimited (APN = unet)
2. maxis broadband (APN = maxisbb)

i think unet likely to be faster due to less users using it

This is actually a known issue is 3G(HSDPA) network..the spectrum coverage is not as far as those edge and gsm.. that's why for 3g they need to strategically place the BTS..if u r so unlucky n u fall into the blind spot area that's why the signal strength is unstable....
