QUOTE(Casanova88 @ Jan 12 2009, 08:12 PM) Arshavin is slow??You bet be right. He might not have the electric pace that Walcott or Lennon or Agbonlahor or Young or even Clichy have but he's quite fast IMHO.He can penetrate into the box well and thats what the current squad lacks with Walcott out with injuries. |

QUOTE(kimhoong @ Jan 14 2009, 03:57 PM) StarGhazzer don't be too mean, it's a blessing to an office guy like me to have tea time I would say a good CB.As you can see Man UTD was playing with Fletcher and Giggs in the middle of the park and they can trash Chelsea without conceeding a goal and Van Der Sar didn't have a busy day.He just stopped 1 shot on target..This is because their back-4 are so good.So a good CB would solve all the defensive problems.I wish AW could sign a CB in the class of Cordoba(Impossible though).Seriously, do we need an attacking player or a defensive player? Which one gets the highest priority? I would welcome Arshavin/Arteta anytime as both can provide quality and spark for our attack. This post has been edited by ncool15: Jan 14 2009, 05:07 PM |

QUOTE(yi7117 @ Jan 16 2009, 05:05 AM) I guess Arshavin will be our only signing for this window. We'll be having a fully-fit aquyad hopefully when facing Man U n Chelsea on return leg in BPL.Imagine a Midfield with so much firepower.Walcott,Nasri, cesc,Rosicky,Arshavin and not forgetting Eboue,Diaby,Song and Denilson. |

Btw,A.Young got a red card that day which means he'll not play for 3 more matches.I guess Villa will suffer without him and here's our chance to grab the 4th spot.

If AW manage to Sign Arshavin,I guess the line-up will be like this :
Almunia Sagna---Djourou---Toure---Clichy Eboue---Nasri---Denilson---Arshavin Ade--RVP This is because Arshavin is more likely to play on the flanks as he can provide the penetrating run into the box. While Nasri can take the CAM with his passing and dribbling abilities. What do you guys think with this line-up? |

Wenger - We have NOT agreed Arshavin fee
QUOTE Arsenal have not agreed a fee with Zenit St Petersburg over the purchase of Andrei Arshavin and any deal is still some distance away. Media reports on Tuesday morning suggested the 27-year-old’s move to Emirates Stadium was nearing completion with only personal details still to be negotiated. At his press conference ahead of the trip to Everton, Arsène Wenger denied that was the case. “There is no news about Andrei Arshavin or about anybody else that is why I cannot give you anything,” he said. “At the moment it is all quiet.” The Frenchman was asked outright if a price had been decided and whether a deal was far away. “[That is] not true,” he replied. “In this job ‘far’ doesn’t mean a lot. I believe that we are not close to concluding any transfer, Arshavin or anybody else. “I don’t know [if it will happen] frankly. Time is getting short and at the moment I am more focused to win the game tomorrow. We know we are in front of a big game and the most important thing is to focus on that.” This stance is directly opposed to the noises coming out of Zenit. But Wenger’s policy through this saga has been to maintain media silence as much as possible. “I am only responsible for the statements we make and I cannot be responsible for the statements that other clubs make,” said the Frenchman. “Zenit look to have different voices coming out of the club and I’m not sure if it always the official voice. I believe what I see and what I hear directly.” As ever, the official announcement of any signing will be made via Arsenal.com. Source : http://www.arsenal.com/ |

QUOTE(toshio14 @ Jan 29 2009, 09:06 AM) i watched the 1st half, but struggled to find a decent stream. even the sopcast stream did not work for me last night. so i just gave up and went to sleep Well,Thats the frustration from the fans.Of course everybody dissapointed when we drew level because we are playing chasing game with Man Utd.just 1 comment from me. we did score a legit goal, and Everton only scored 1 goal also. that means we deserved the point that we get. unless there's a penalty claim or disallowed goal for Everton, i do not see the reason why most of us in here keep on saying we are lucky the thing with football is it is not a game of deserving to win or lose |

The only player in the squad that's inspiring the team is Van Persie. He's working his socks off for the team. But players like Diaby and Song are just not up to the level.I can just hope Theo and Tommy will be back soon and Aw to sign Arshavin. Then there's some hope for us to challenge for the tittle or FA Cup or UCL.

QUOTE(Goonerforever @ Jan 31 2009, 11:16 AM) Some players are late bloomer. But i see great talent in him. Funny how fans always go about us needing experience and now that we are in for Arshavin ppl harp on his age. Aw pointed out that January Transfer window will distract the player's morale and focus as there will be alot of clubs trying to unsettle players(eg. R.Madrid).That's what he meant by shutting the Transfer Window.Anyway, Mr Wenger now is not the time to preach. If we dont sign someone we will be in real danger of missing 4th place to Villa. Giving small clubs a chance? Argh.. Be careful what you wish for else that be us losing CL spot. Wenger: Shut That Window This post has been edited by ncool15: Jan 31 2009, 11:25 AM |
