If you have the warranty sticker between both halves of the casing(which is HIGHLY unlikely), then your warranty will be void. But in this case, it shouldn't. Yeah better not DIY. Unless if you happen to be a technician.  However, if you do screw up(pins on the earpiece too bent/snapped, casing cracked, earpice fallen/stepped on, etc. etc.), you only have yourself to blame. Atleast if you send in to your NCC, it's free of charge for you even if they did screw up.

i bought my red 5800 last week.. i didnt encounter the earpiece problem for a few days until i read about it in a forum, and several days later it happened to me.. So i went to Nokia service center, they couldnt fixed it for another 2 weeks.. what phone am i supposed to use in the mean time? so i took back my phone and search for the solution online, and found a great video tutorial on fixing the earpiece, it took me less then 10 minutes to fix it and my earpiece is working well up until now.. then i got my firmware updated, it stops the phone from freeze and switching off automatically.. As for the battery, i thought my battery was defect, i charge the phone using my old nokia n82 charger and the battery didnt last for more than 6 hours after an onernight charge.. then i tried charging using the charger in the box, the battery lasted longer.. i used my phone heavily (emails, music video, musics, wifi,camera) and my battery last for a day and a half before i had to juice up again.. hope this will clear up some issues..

i f-king hate nokia.... i sent to amcorp mall to repair.. 1 week later rosak again !!!!!!! damn lah... i have to take leave liao.... F F F ... rosak right b4 CNY... what the hell rite? damn suey lahhh....... CNY leave i have to go amcorp mall waste another stupid toll money and parking money, then phoneless for few days..... argh..... i tot they suppose to fix this prob completely... nampaknya the technician at nokia amcorp is not competent enuf lah wei..

seems like i'm not the only person face the earpiece prob twice... a lot got this problem back even after send to nokia care to fix. I'm considering replace with Iphone 2G liao... since the 3g with this phone doesn't really impress me much...

Anyone using myPhone ? How to connect to the Net meh. Need to register before can use. If not can only use trial ver. Dem dun wanna waste RM50 for no reason.
btw other than that, think there's no prob at all. Maybe because it's RED all the way~
Added on January 25, 2009, 12:02 amoh yeah another one. does the handphone does not charge from usb when used as modem? I used mine as modem one nite to download some stuff but after wake up, seems the modem just shutdown. not only that, everytime i use it as my 3g modem, it will got DC after a while for no reason, while I have no problem when using the HuaWei one. weird~
