QUOTE(panasonic88 @ Jan 6 2009, 09:41 AM) Some known problems which may occur on your Nokia 5800 (which happened randomly on the phone) Quoted from the owners: You may DIY and fix it. (Do it at your own risk) Source 1 | Source 2Alternatively, send in for warranty claim. Give it a soft reset by key in *#7370# Its equivalent to a factory reset to default settings. All programs will be lost. Backup here means using either built-in backup utility or PC Suite backup to backup all your messages, contacts, calendar, to-dos, meetings, and necessary phone settings. Content in micro-SD card is unaffected but applications installed in it will be re-detected by the phone and re-installed automatically. It works like a charm. Don't worry about the light leakage. Its typical to see it and am very sure any phones/products made in plastic will see such imperfections. you should also add problem of high/low speaker volume when making/receiving call

QUOTE(faizalmzain @ Jan 6 2009, 11:20 AM) even after the official launching it's still the same phone.. both zitron and avaxx already start selling the phone before the official launching. it's not like on the day of the launching there will be a new authorised distributor selling it with all of the problems fixed. yup agreed. maybe from same production/batch. but i think if original nokia then maybe better after sales service? coz mine under CSL and when sent back to shop they said phone ok lor (at that time problem didint happen...haiya...)

QUOTE(faizalmzain @ Jan 6 2009, 11:25 AM) so far the common known problem of the phone is the earpiece problem right? which is can be fixed pretty quickly... other than that i think the phone is working great.. don't let 1 problem which can be fixed easily deter you from buying it... it's not like the phone is totally malfunction, cannot click here and there etc the way some people react make it like the phone is totally malfunction. yup. except it is just irritating especially when a phone main function for us to receive and hear the call clearly. 5800 still generally a good device with interesting features
