got an email from nokia care malaysia. Apparently, they 'officially' don't know the earpiece problem! Please, everyone, if your earpiece has problem don't just DIY... we need to voice up and get some action from nokia otherwise we're really wasting our money on being one of the 1st customers.

here is the email :

Blue user here.

been using since saturday...

the earpiece problem started yesterday the volume was too soft... and today i cant even hear at the begining of call till i on the loudspeaker.

called up nokia call center n took ages to get thru.. and was told the same thing... on n off phone... factory restore...
but still very soft volume now..

i oso asked on the earpiece problem.. the customer service told me its a new model and we do not know the problem exist.

i guess.... we need to really voice it up to nokia center regarding tis. im goin to send mine to nokia center tis few days for repair.

I think those service technicians also follow similar procedures on the internet. I know they can't unscrew the PCB from behind because the main cable that attaches to the touchscreen layer is short making it impossible to flip and expose the speaker. So they will still have to pry open the casing. Can you confirm that there are no 'bite' marks on the casing? These marks are a sign of prying open the top casing.

So I don't think they replace speaker since the issue here is contact. I think they will do something about the contacts too either via bending or adding padding to push the speaker down the contact pads.
