I'm going to COD with a lowyat forumer (mymobilenservices) for Nokia 5800 Avaxx Fullset New, so what should I check during COD?

1. Check the warranty card and receipt.
2. Check the imei no whether same with the original box.
3. Check the accessories is fullset or not.
4. ?What more should I check?

I'm not dare enough to get it from those shop that located at Sg. Wang, some more price expensive, btw I will be getting this phone for Rm1330 (Avaxx), usual Rm1350 but since I buy 2 sets from (mymobilenservices) so he offer me RM1330 per set, so on lol.

PS: Another set is my classmate, don't think I can afford to buy 2 sets.

Here's a newbie question regarding the receipt,

I need to attach the official receipt that came from the seller of this phone to my sister company which is OCBC bank to claim for certain amount, so let's say if I already attached the original receipt to my sister's Company, which mean I have no proof of purchase, so can I still claim my warranty from the Nokia Care Center without the receipt? Or can I make a photocopy of the official receipt? What proof that NCC needed to proof? Is it only the warranty card?

PS: What is the latest firmware of the current Nokia 5800 XM?

Just did a survey through lowyat forum, looks like the Nokia 5800 XM has some serious issues out there, actually I'm planning to COD with a seller on tomorrow, but after I knew the issue about this phone, it really holding me back from buying this phone, so can any professional advise me on should I buy it now or not? If more than 5 persons here says don't buy right now then I'll straight away cancel the order and wait, of course if more than 5 persons support then I won't cancel the deal, please some pros reply me immediately as I'll buying this phone on tomorrow. Thanks in advance nod.gif

PS: I won't change my mind in changing my current phone to Nokia 5800 XM, just the 'TIMING'.

Thanks for the supporter, but I just received a call from the seller about the raised price of the phone, he said the price already raised up to at least RM1400 with limited stock and RM1450 for new stock, so I'll reconsidering it and I may disappointing you all. notworthy.gif

As for the announcement from Nokia, this phone will be retailed @ RM1499, so for those who are worry about about the price will raised up after launching, so now you got the RRP price.

All proudly Nokia 5800 users, I will be joining this club on either this Friday or next Tuesday, went to Kelana Jaya Giant placed order and deposit paid, they still selling RM1300, so for who haven't buy and wish to buy this phone with the cheapest ever price in KL, you may go to place your order now, as the shopkeeper told me they will raise up the price soon, luckily I still in the list of RM1300.

Proudly 5800 Owners please help me out,

I'm getting this phone on hand on this coming Friday so I really need to know what should I do when got this phone,

1. Put on screen protector
2. Charge for 8 hours
3. Should I really need to do a soft reset first?
4. Woola, test kaw kaw with the features.

PS: As i know the soft reset will remove all the files that in the phone memory and if wont affect the memory card right? Another thing, the default applications such as dictionary will be automatically reinstall back right?

Actually we shouldn't try our self, as the Nokia already noticed this problem and they are getting the new earpiece, so you can simply drop by to the nearest NCC to request them to do for you with no charge.

Most of the contents are loaded in the 8GB micro-SD card. The contents in the phone can be restored from the ROM storage. Just remove the card when you do a soft reset. Actually there's no need to do any soft reset. When you newly receive the phone and activate it, it'll initiate the ROM which is like new. It should as good as a new hard reset.

But as reported there will be a Certificate Expired problem occur to most of the user right? That's why they suggest to do a soft reset before installing any new application.

Exactly, but if you are brave enough like those owner who have done it by themselves, you may try it on your own 'RISK'.
