Any1 had sent their phone to Care Centre to fix the earpiece problem? How long did it take? How they fix the problem (bend or unbend?) Which Care Centre?
I'm thinking of fixing it myself using the Russian way, since I'm a techy myself (not phone, but general), yet still hesitating... sweat.gif Scare later break something and things get worse...

you can try tighten the screw at the back first or press the earpiece part a little bit...
no need to take out the front cover..

the first solution is no brainer..anybody can do it.. nod.gif  nod.gif
for bend/unbend solution you better send back to nokia care

Which screw? Need T5 screw driver right? Any1 has the link to the Chinese way (screw way) of fixing the earpiece problem? I forgot to bookmark it last time. Now to dig out the link from old posts, is like searching for a needle in the sea (too many post sweat.gif )

for those who want to diy the earpiece...just do it..so simple..but must take deep breath first...the earpiece size is smaller than 5 cent coin...

You mean the Russian way? Yes, I know it's easy, but then i have problem opening the cover. Can you kindly show pics how to properly open it? I called Nokia Care Centre (Amcorp), they said have to leave the phone to them for 1-2 days....crap vmad.gif

Argh...Finally got the courage to do it. This time didn't give face, really "gan gan lai" open the cover, and I made it. rclxm9.gif

I notice unbending the pins doesn't make sense. To fix it, you must make sure both earpiece pins is contacting the PCB firmly. So, I actually bend it 'upwards'. Here's my 'personal' guide tongue.gif

Hope it helps. Now the earpiece volume is normal thumbup.gif

@ Pana,

Here's my guide, based on the Russian way smile.gif

1) Use the plectrum, open the top cover/lid starting from the camera button.

user posted image

You should remove only the plastic 'frame' which locks the screen to the phone's body. It is detachable on its own (no screen, no metal parts).

user posted image

2) This is how it looks like when the earpiece is in place:

user posted image

Next, use a flat-head ('-' type precision tool or any small screw driver.

user posted image

3) Removing the earpiece will reveal the two contact points on the mainboard for the earpiece.

user posted image

4) Here's the default appearance of the earpiece (bottom):

user posted image

To make sure the pins can touch the contact points (highlighted above) properly, I bended the earpiece pins 'upwards'. (Be very careful here not to break the pins. You may want to hold points A and B while bending.

Now, you're done with bending. Next, put back the earpiece. Here's the tricky part, as you may have forgotten which is the correct position to put in. No worry, the part is keyed, meaning, it can only go in one way. Try the other way if the 1st trial fails. DO NOT force it in, it should go in smoothly.

5) Put back the the cover and the plastic 'frame'. Now you're done
and can forget about the earpiece problem forever smile.gif

Oh, so you can't remove the mobile MSN also? I encountered this before and tested uninstalling via PC, it didn't work either. The only way is to *#7370# reset your phone. After reset, the icon will still be there, but now it can be uninstall. Good luck icon_rolleyes.gif

Is MSN having some problem with 5800? Why is everyone wants to uninstall it? shocking.gif  I plan to install one when I get mine...

No....Don't do it. There's no official MSN mobile software compatible with this phone yet, and whichever version there is out there now won't work and you may not be able to uninstall it. As what Pana recommended, use Slick. It works like charm and support other IM, too...like Yahoo, AOL, ICQ....etc

Guys, for the 7-days-trial Nokia Map Navigation, you can actually backdate your phone before the license expires, and it will be valid forever. thumbup.gif I think I'm going to do this until the GarminXT for S60v5 release, since I don't rely on the phone's date. rolleyes.gif
